Treasures Of Bruce Lee

I buy tons of things off of Amazon, and I NEVER review items (unless an item was complete trash) but this book deserves a review, and a 5 star review at that. I've been a Bruce Lee fan for about 10 years so not too long. I was born 15 years after his death but I read up on him and watched his movies and interviews and he truly motivated me and inspired me to push myself in anything I apply myself to. There are a few Bruce Lee books out there but most of them are bland so to say. This book however, is the book I've been waiting for, for 10 years. Although it's only 96 pages long, this book chronicles his life from a child movie star, to his time spent filming Enter the Dragon and Green Hornet, all the way to his untimely death. Each page is filled with huge, high def photographs, and some of them I've never even seen before. But the real treat of this book are the little "treasures" hidden in the book. There are TONS of personal items of Bruce that are authentically replicated. Inside you'll find a couple of his movie posters. You'll find a letter that Boxer Jack Dempsey had written to Bruce. You'll also find a Jeet Kune Do student card. My personal favorite is the replication of his notebook which had his own notes and drawings in it. I had a huge smile on my face while I was flipping through this book because it is what I've been waiting for since I first read up on Bruce Lee. Paul Bowman did an excellent job putting this book together but it's because of Bruce's daughter, Shannon Lee, that this book saw the light of day. The concept behind this book is beyond amazing. For what you're paying on Amazon this book is considered a steal. Do yourself a favor and purchase this book ASAP.

This is a great quality book. It's a combination photo album and scrapbook. There is a ton of excellent photos (new one's and old) and educational writings on the almost 20 chapters listed. It spans from origins and family to his death. It is an impressive large hardback book. Very well made. I thought before i received the book since it was under a 100 pages that I would go through it very quickly. It took me hours to first look at it all and I'm still not close to done reading everything. All the inserts that are added throughout the book are great. My favorite is the items that were written in his handwriting and copied exactly how the original was. It makes you feel as if you were looking through a treasure chest of Bruce Lee memorabilia from the past. I find myself treating the book very respectful and turning the pages slowly trying to preserve it all just as it is. The posters included are fun. I'm not taking anything out of it. I will leave it just the way everything came. I was hesitate at the price of this book in the beginning and now I would pay double for it. I might even buy another one so I can relax with one and collect another. It's a must.

I have been collecting Bruce Lee books, merchandise and memorabilia for over thirty years. I am a certified Full Senior Instructor of Bruce Lee's martial arts of Jun Fan Gung Fu and Jeet Kune Do. This is by far one of the nicest books that I have ever seen on Bruce Lee, his life, martial arts and movie career! The removable extras that are spread throughout the book in unique holders make it just that much more special! I usually order at least two of anything having to do with Bruce Lee, but due to the price of this item I hesitated before going ahead and ordering two of them. After opening the box and seeing what was inside, I was not only glad that I had ordered two of them, I will probably order at least two more! The book is full of rare photos and informative text. Someone had posted on a martial arts forum that this sounded more like something for kids, but I will tell you right now ... NO, it is NOT for kids! After looking it over, rather than thinking it was too expensive, I found myself wondering how they offered all that for the low price of $45.00! Two words for any serious Bruce Lee fan or Jeet Kune Do practitioner ... BUY IT!!! You will not be disappointed!

So, if you were on the fence about yet another Bruce Lee book or asking yourself do we really need another book about the legendary martial artist the answer to that question is a resounding YES! Complete with stunning pictures in some cases photos that have either rarely or never been seen of the iconic Lee! However, it is the aforementioned "Treasures" that are the standout feature of the book which actually include rarely seen lobby cards from the actor's famous movies along with other memorabilia! Also included are painstakingly recreated samples of Lee's notes and drawings, holding these artifacts is akin to sitting in Lee's personal study and reviewing materials that have not been available to people outside of Lee's family and close associates! "Treasures of Bruce Lee" will bring the martial artist to a generation that may not understand his unquestioned importance and is a fascinating review of one of the most important figures of the 20th century!

A few years ago I lent Shannon Lee (Bruce Lee's daughter), a book on Elvis Presley which contained personal letters, tickets, pictures, etc. of the great singer. I asked her to please consider doing a similar book on her father Bruce Lee. I am so glad she took my request seriously and had this book created. It will not disappoint you. As an Instructor in Jeet Kune Do and a collector of Bruce Lee memorabilia for over 30 years, I was amazed with this book. It will satisfy both Martial Artist and Fan of the late great Bruce Lee. If you purchase this book, you will not be disappointed. In fact, you may find yourself purchasing two copies, as I did. The "Treasures Of Bruce Lee Book" is a book that I will highly treasure in my library. It is that good!!!

As a Bruce Lee fan since 1973 I have to say this is one of the best books in my collection. It is not perfect since like others have pointed out the written sections seems like it was written by someone with no knowledge of the English language and was using phonetics to write the essays. But to me that is a minor thing since the info wasn't new and I have many earlier books from Hong Kong that read as funny as this one. But the real treat are all those collective cards, letters, drawings and posters plus rare photos collected in this hardcover book. Love it.

I am a long time collector of all things Bruce Lee and this is one of the nicest books to come out in 40 years. It is made in a quality manner containing many rare unseen photos as well as facsimiles of original unpublished Bruce Lee memorabilia and documents (treasures) Including reproductions of his Hong Kong Movie posters. The text is refreshingly well written. As a long time collector and student of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do it is refreshing to see something new that is both of quality and original and orignal instead of thew same ole tired stuff that frequently comes out . I will defnitely recommend it to friends and hope this product is the beginning of a new Bruce Lee renaissance! Bob Landers

This official story about Bruce Lee is a 90 page book that contains a good amount of photos of Bruce Lee from his personal life and films. What makes this book unique is that it includes 5 large posters and 15 pieces of memorabilia. The posters are movie posters from this films such as Enter the Dragon and the reproductions are interesting in that they include personal writings from Bruce Lee, movie tickets, letters, and a booklet of techniques and more. The forward is by Shannon Lee. This book gives a great insight of Brice Lee's life. Pros: - interesting pieces of memorabilia add dimension to the book. The 5 movie posters are a good size at 28" x 19". - lots of interesting photos of Bruce Lee. Both personal and from the movies. Cons: - Posters are folded (nothing they can really do here). - Cover is not the best. Overall: A great book worth reading and for just looking at the memorabilia. I recommend it to any Bruce fan.

The Standard Edition Book of the Treasure of Bruce Lee: this is the perfect book for Bruce lee Fans but I have found that their are two items missing from the book , the reproduction of the ticket of enter the dragon was not included in the book when I receive it and if you look at the video on you tube of Shannon lee, she talks about the book and what you will have and also a reproduction of the ticket of enter the dragon but when I receive the book the reproduction of the ticket was not in the book only the poster of enter the dragon and you do have the reproduction ticket of the way of the dragon. But this is a very good treasure book but if you had all the reproduction tickets of all the Bruce lee films then this will be a real treasure. if you have the limited edition book with Sharon lee signature you get a glass cup plus the reproduction ticket of enter the dragon which I saw on you tube videos, but there is a difference between standard edition and limited edition and also if you look at the back of the standard edition book you see one items displayed one item is not with the items you get with the standard book you will notice when you have this book

Als erstes 3 Worte zum Versender, "sehr schnelle Lieferung." Vorweg zur Info, ich habe einige Bücher/Dokus von und über Bruce Lee. Zu diesem Buch welches schön gebunden daher kommt, "es befinden sich viele goodies darin." So z.B. ein Repro der original Kinokarte aus Hong Kong von der Premiere von "Enter the Dragon", desweiteren alle Original Kinoplakate (Repros) von damals, usw. Die Seiten sind Qualitativ sehr hochwertig. Das Buch ist sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man ein großer Fan ist und diese Kleinigkeiten die hier hinzu gefügt wurden immer schon gesucht hat. Wenn sich aber einer intensiver mit dem Thema beschäftigen möchte, würde ich auf eine ausführlichere Biografie zurückgreifen mit weniger Bilder dafür mehr informatives schriftliches Material. Aber wie gesagt, als Fan sollte man es sich besorgen, allein wegen des Preises "welches niedriger ist als auf der offiziellen Hompage" und wegen der Kleinigkeiten die beigelegt wurden. PS: Intro mit Vorwort von Shannon Lee (Tochter).

Un capolavoro !! Questo e' l'unico termine adatto a questo bellissimo volume, che non deve in alcun modo mancare nello scaffale di tutti i fan del grande Bruce Lee. Un volume (in inglese) ricco di notizie, curiosita' ed informazioni, nonche' di bellissime ed inedite foto che ripercorrono la vita (e perche' no, la leggenda) del piu' grande maestro di arti marziali di tutti i tempi. Il volume poi e' arricchito da oltre una ventina di 'inserti', ovvero di riproduzioni cartacee di materiale proveniente dai 'memoriabilia' del grande campione: si va dalla riproduzione del poster dei suoi film, alla tessera degli iscritti ai suoi corsi, dalla lettera scritta a mano, al taccuino con gli appunti !! DA AVERE !!!

Un livre exceptionnel pour tous les admirateurs du Petit Dragon !!! avec des photos rares et en bonus à l'intérieur des copies de posters de ses films, (édition chinoise) mais aussi des copies de documents personnels, comme le bloc notes, cartes de club JKD, facture, etc... Un livre FABULEUX !!! A NE PAS LOUPER :)
