Eneloop: The Gold Standard for Rechargeables Batteries
I cannot recommend Eneloop batteries enough. I still have my original Sanyo era Eneloop AA from 2011, and they continue to charge even after 15 years. Even my second batch of 16 AAs from 2017 is performing like new. I recently added 12 AAAs for my kids' remote control cars because these batteries are essentially "indestructible" and often overengineer to outlast the devices they power.Unlike Energizer or Sony batteries I’ve owned that died within three years, Eneloops have never let me down. Eneloop from Canada are Made in Japan—the quality is top-notch. They’ve saved me a fortune on Duracell alkalines. I use them for everything: RC cars (charged every 10–14 days), electric toothbrushes, infant toys, and even hobby-grade Mini-Z cars. For high-drain use like Mini-Z, I recommend having a second set of 8 AAAs to swap out, but for everyday household needs, there is simply no better choice. It’s the best buy and forget battery.
