Quality & flavor excelente!
These weren't the superhot, purely round, tiny tepins I grew up with, but I enjoy these very, very much! I have to use 2-4 of these where I would have only used 1. Heat is similar to a truely hot jalapeno. Spreads on the tounge then leaves just a bit of tingle on the lips and finishes with the wonderfully addictive Tepin flavor. Happy to have found this variety of Tepins because Peqines always fall short.I recieved bright fresh whole tepins. And yes...I'm ordering more after just a few short weeks. Be aware of the addiction.

Fruity, Spicy and a little smokey. Great flavor. A little pricey
Stats -Weight: Labeled as 1 ounce / 28 grams. Actual: 0.977 ounces / 27.64 grams.Volume: Slightly more than 1/2 cupCount: 281 in my 0.977 ounce or 284 per 1 ounce.Length: the roundish shape measure varies in length, 4mm - 9mmScoville Units: Generally they are considered in the 50,000 - 100,000 rangeExpectations Met? Based on the product's picture, I assumed I was getting more for the $8.87 (June 2026) price tag. I did some research and learned they're are notoriously difficult to cultivate and must be entirely hand-harvested from naturally grown shrubs in remote, hard-to-reach canyons in Northern Mexico / Southwest U.S. It takes roughly 4,554 chiltepin peppers to make a 1 lb. Prices can vary from $4.35 an ounce to $12.50 an ounce. Are they worth the $8.87 I paid? On occasion, yes. I'd be more willing to consume these regularly at a much lower price.Quality: Maybe 95% are completely whole. Some are broken shells with the seeds spilled out. I'd say that is reasonable.Taste: They're delicious, just by themselves. They lean heavy towards fruity than earthy in taste. They are very spicy but I'm spice-tolerant. The smokey flavor is subtle to me. I find chile de arbols to be smokier. Chiltepins have a lot of flavor. I can't wait to make salsa with them. How they're used: Common in Sonoran cuisine. Used to add heat to soups, stews, and salsa.
