365 by Whole Foods Market, Organic Whole Grain Brown Rice, 90-Second Microwave in Pouch, 8.8 Ounce

I used to buy Whole Foods frozen organic brown rice (and the same for years from Trader Joe's). Then I stumbled upon these pouches and prefer them because they can be stored in a cool, dry place. The texture is perfect (fluffy), and the taste and quality have not disappointed me.The cooking directions say to heat the pouch in the microwave for 90 seconds, but after a few taste tests, I cook the rice for 2 minutes. The ease of preparation is a big bonus, and it is versatile because there are so many uses for it.As to serving size, the package says it serves 1, but a whole package is too much, in my opinion, so I save the other half for another meal. Sometimes I add the rice to homemade chicken soup during the last 15-20 minutes, and other times I cook it with broccoli florets and sprinkle pieces of 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter with a little organic parsley and black pepper and serve it on the side with meatloaf or chicken.Really, the uses are endless, and the rice would be great for meal planning in bowls, too, which I will try doing soon. The value for the money couldn't be better for this product, in that when I cook brown rice from scratch, it never seems to turn out perfect and fluffy like this brown rice. I will continue to buy it.

These are great. The ingredient list is minimal. They’re easy. They’re beautiful as a side or to complete a meal when you don’t have the energy or the desire to be standing at the stove for a long time stirring and waiting these are fantastic 90 seconds you can even just throw them in the soups and other things as is I love them. They really are such a lifesaver. The price is right. The texture is beautiful or convenient. The qualities seems excellent they’re fantastic very versatile. You won’t regret!! it go for it.

I've purchased this rice a lot. I don't think that I'm going to purchase anymore. It's a weird texture that I'm noticing. It also tastes like plastic after opening up one of the bags. It was awful,even my daughter noticed it. For reference,I heat it up in a pot on the stove. I haven't used a microwave in many years.
