I bought this to use with my storage container and sous vide. I used a utility knife to cut out a corner for the sous vide. The cover still snaps on and stays put. Keeps the water temp more constant than running the heater with an open container or using plastic wrap. Very happy with the lid and how easy it was to modify for my application.

My new hobbies include feeding about 60 hummingbirds on my patio, from 6 feeders. They eat/drink about 1-1/2 lbs of sugar/water mix every 24 hours. I was tired of using three one-gallon containers to mix 10 lbs of sugar and water every week. Also the containers were hard to clean, so I bought a 18L polycarbonate cube-shaped container, drilled a 3/4" hole near the bottom, installed a cheap spigot - PERFECT! Now I mix up 20 lbs of sugar with 10L of water twice a month. Ideal for dispensing from refrigerator into my 1.5L filling bottle and then to the 6 12oz feeders on the patio. This lid fits very snugly/snaps into place very well. Happy. Would buy again.

I have replaced a lot of the other storage containers I had with these. They are awesome. Good quality. Sturdy. Clean up easy. I love that they are square. They stack great and reduce the amount of wasted space in my pantry. I shop at a wholesale club and buy a lot of things in bulk. These are indispensable in my kitchen and pantry.

Works great for sous vide machine using the 12 quart Rubbermaid container I ordered separately. We just cut a hole in one of the corners to accommodate the sous vide machine, and it works perfectly. I don't even have to cover the gaps because the condensation compensates for any lost moisture, if that makes any sense. I'm using this to make Dr Davis' super gut yogurt.

The lid fit the container perfectly

Fits the Rubbermaid commercial storage tub as it should and keeps the moisture in when I sous vide. This lid is high quality and holds up to the heat of higher degree recipes just fine. It did seem silly that this lid shipped in a separate, giant box from the exact same distribution center that the Rubbermaid tub came from. Simply putting the lid on the tub and shipping them in one package would have made far more sense. I'd recommend this lid over using plastic wrap or other items to cover your water tub while cooking as it's far less wasteful and forms a better seal. Get the pair now and be done with it.

A little flimsy but is absolutely perfect for using in tandem with a Sous Vide circulator. Sure it doesn't have a hole on top but it was super easy to cut one using regular kitchen shears as it isn't the most rigid plastic. Works like a charm.

Used in conjunction with the 11.4 Litre container (http://amzn.to/29u2qEq) and the Anova precision cooker. Simply draw around the Anova holder on the lid and carefully cut out with a stanley knife. Lid creates a stable holder and a tight seal around the device.

The lid could be a little more solid, but otherwise it does its job and seals the water in (i.e. for sous vide use) fine and snaps on nicely. I have seen people buy the wrong lid for the wrong container (and rate it 1 star for illogical reasons) so do double check!

Purchased this lid to go with this tub: Rubbermaid Commercial Space Saving Food Storage Container, 12 Quart, Clear (FG631200CLR) for use with my Anova Sous Vide cooker. Sous Vide lids are outrageously expensive for what you get so I cut a hole in this one at the corner, using an exacto knife and it's a perfect fit for the presicion cooker- but keeps the heat in, saving a bit of power. It also clamps the sous vide bags down to prevent the vacuum seal bags from floating or sinking to the bottom resulting in uneven cooking. If you are not needing this for Sous Vide, it has a good snug fit that snaps into place.

This lid with the appropriate bin, 11.4litre Rubbermaid bin, work fab. For use to brine the turkey this Christmas.
