Great alternative
I was quite impressed with these JOI products. I don’t have a blender and tried the “ jar shaker” method but that doesn’t work very well. I definitely would suggest a blunder or immersion blender (which is what I ended up using). The two jars lasted about eight weeks, which seems reasonable. They taste like any other almond or cashew milk, but I preferred the almond base. You can customize by adding in the ingredients that you choose. I made it with dates and/or maple syrup, vanilla extract, salt, but the options are endless. I did keep the open jars in the refrigerator, since there are no preservatives and wanted to make sure it stayed fresh. This is a great alternative for plant-based milks and would definitely buy again.

Delicious, shelf-stable nut milk saves the day!
JOI is the most delicious, freshest nut milk I've had. I love the frothy whip it gets in the blender and the flavor is so clean, which of course- because it's Just One Ingredient (JOI). I also love to make it richer by adding more base. Honestly, it's delicious straight from the spoon! With store shelves missing essentials lately, this has been a lifesaver to ensure I always have healthy almond milk without any other additives in it. I love JOI's ethos, their branding, and of course the quality of their product. Highly recommend.

No additives
Even after a minute in my high speed blender there was still a graininess to the nutmilk. Taste was good for both. Had difficulty getting base off spoon. Like the idea that it was only almonds or cashews and no additives. Very expensive.

Joi has been a game changer!
So, we first found Joi at our local refill store called Origins in San Diego. Watching Buy Now on Net Flix has made us buy way less packaged stuff and throw away (there's no away but that's another topic) way less plastic. Since 95% of plastic isn't recycled and those tetra packs aren't recyclable Joi has been a joy. I use 3tbs of cashew, 3tbs of almond, 2tbs maple syrup and 1/4tsp salt. It's better then any plant based milk on the shelves. I'm saving money. No fillers, gums or preservatives. Plant based milks at the store are mainly water. You buy the container which isn't recyclable. Drink the gums and preservatives. And waste money. I use this milk to make butter and bread. The coffee creamer I make with the almond is perfect. I've tried them all. I've been vegan since the 90s, back when it wasn't cool. The recipe for ranch is bomb!

exp date
I bought the almond and cashew combo in Mar2022. I used the almond and the exp date on it ended in 2023 so I assumed the Cashew would be the same and just tucked them in the fridge. I'm running low on the almond and switched to the cashew and noticed the date was Aug 2020, I took a picture and magnified to be sure if a part of it rubbed off or something but it's definitely 2020. So I feel I wasted half my money. Lesson learned, always check the exp on EACH item in a combo pack because you never know. I'm hoping this was a fluke, and may try this product again down the road. As far as the complete review of the Almond. It mixes well, but the flavor is ok. Maybe it's b/c I'm used to tasting premixed almond milk and/or maybe it's best at 1 cup at time, vs a large batch, but I am following the instructions.
