Half of my house was practically unusable because it was either too hot or too cold, depending on the time of year. No hooks in package.

The velcro straps are adjustable so I have it mounted at 45 degree angle from ceiling ac cooling vent outward to blow away from intake vent side. It works fine, wish it had a couple of adjustable side panel flaps to divert some air sideways and not all via one flat panel. And velcro straps could be about 2-3" longer. Otherwise serves its purpose.

We have ac vent right above our bed, it blasts frozen air in the middle of the night into our heads and it's been a big problem. We tried putting dampening cloth under the vent cover to slow down the flow and it did NOTHING. We have a plastic vent so magnetic diverters do not stick. Metal vents buzz and vibrate which is super loud as well. So I found this option and my goodness am I happy. Finally no blasts into our heads. Air flows smoothly through the room and I feel no direct air anywhere in the room. 🙏 It doesn't look good though, it's just a piece of roughly cut fabric stretched on a metal rod and hooks on velcros --- it's not stylish lol but it gets the job done.

The air still comes out the sides of the cover but it's not blowing directly on your head.
