FLOOF! MARSHMALLOW FLOOF!
I grabbed this yarn to try loom knitting, and truthfully, it didn’t work on the loom. However, for hand knitting it was perfect. I started a throw yesterday and finished it today, as a first project. It took the entire pack, so if you want something larger than throw size, get two packs. There are some areas on the yarn where the floof is a little thin. However, these areas are very short, and they do not show in the finished product. My biggest challenge with this yarn was figuring out how to do the joins between the balls. My first attempt was using the wire stripper method, but I did not like that. I looked at the exposed core and decided it would be sturdier to do a sewed join. Here’s what I did: I grabbed a sewing needle, thread the same color as the yarn, and then doubled the thread and triple knotted the two ends of the thread together. Then, I used my needle to probe around in the yarn for the core, and then passed the needle through the core. You will feel the resistance. I then did the same to the other end of the yarn with the two ends of the yarn butted up against each other. After doing this five or six times I stitched in two knots and was done. Doing that was the most challenging part of working with this yarn, and it was no big deal. This has produced a very warm, soft throw. The color is a nice, neutral white (it looks warmer in my photo than in real life) that will go with my daughter’s sofa, and it’s my hope that it will be sturdy enough to last for a while, but the yarn was so inexpensive that I can just make her another one if I need to. The stitch definition is good enough that you can tell it’s a knitted product, but also fluffy enough that nobody can tell that this is my first time doing hand knitting instead of needle knitting. Fun yarn to play with!

Not consistent
purchased my first lot of yarn from this company and was very happy with the quality. The yarn was soft, consistent, and perfect for my chunky blanket. When I needed more to finish the blanket, I ordered a second lot. Unfortunately, the quality was noticeably different despite costing the same. The yarn was much thicker, looked a little matted, and didn’t have the same soft feel as the first batch. Once I continued making the blanket, the difference was quite obvious. I was disappointed by the inconsistency in quality between the two orders. If the yarn had been the same as my original purchase, I would have been very happy.

Great Quality, Affordable yarn for your Chunky Knit Projects!
I have ordered multiple packs of the Cozyful Chunky Yarn - They have not let me down yet in terms of quality and ease when it comes to hand knitting! The yarn is thick and durable, resistant to me having to rip out rows as went through the process of relearning how to hand knit (and sometimes, ripping out the same length of yarn!), and the colors are very consistent. I only have experience working with the Cream and the Sage Green. Both I’ve ordered multiple times to make several projects (I made a comforter and matching pillows), and color was consistent with each order. The quality of the yarn compared to the price point is unbeatable in this economy. When I first got into hand knitting, you could find a skein of Bernat BIG yarn for approximately 5 dollars for a 10.5 oz skien at your local craft store, which was reasonable. Five years later, I decided to get back into hand knitting and saw that the price for the same Bernat skeins are now ~10 dollars at my local store… which is nuts! I tend to make a lot of larger blankets, so spending 80 dollars on supplies just didn’t seem worth it. I decided to take a chance and order Cozyful chunky knit yarn to make my holiday gifts this year, and was not disappointed! The quality is comparable to Bernat’s, for a fraction of the price. Each Cozyful skein comes to ~$3.40/8oz skein (depending on the color, the ones I bought were around this price point) versus ~10/10.5 oz skein… so, almost half of the cost by ounce. This is a no-brainer for me because I’m not sacrificing quality - even when I was using Bernat when first getting into hand knitting, I recall thinking that it was pricey for the quality even back then. I did order a dark green color from two different brands and a blue from an entirely different brand, and i didn’t like working with any of the other three. Some of the strands were sparse and petrified, but I haven’t noticed this being an issue with any of the Cozyful yarn! You may get some shedding here and there, but that is inevitable and par for the course, in my experience. I have not yet washed any of these blankets yet because I’m still wrapping up some projects, but I will update when I do. Overall, highly recommend this brand for affordable, quality yarn.
