Makes giving bitter pills easier for a dog
These have been a lifesaver for my dog's medications. He takes multiple pills twice a day, and putting them in capsules has made a horrible situation much less horrible! They're easy to fill and snap closed securely. The biggest benefit for us is that they mask the bitter taste of the medications. My dog became very suspicious of his food and treats once he figured out there were pills hidden in them. Using capsules has made giving his medications so much easier and much less stressful. My dog is about 47 pounds, and size 0 capsules are a good fit for him. I don't think this size would work well for a smaller dog, so keep that in mind when ordering sizes. I even leave the capsules in his food for a few minutes to soften them a bit before giving them. I've also used them for liquid medications and given them right away without any issues. From what I've read, water-based liquids may not work well because they can start to dissolve the capsule, so you'll probably have to test what works for your particular medication. I've had good luck using oil-based liquids. If you have a dog that takes multiple medications, these are absolutely worth having on hand.
