great little gyro remote with convenient buttons
I am in LOVE with this thing. I've tried many solutions for using my computer in bed to watch movies and stuff, but it's always annoying either pulling an app on my phone up or using a wireless keyboard. This remote is perfect. The gyro is toggleable, and the buttons are all useful. Has automatic buttons for things like pulling up task manager, windows key, settings, swapping through windows, you name it. Also lights up just on the side that you're using, so I don't have to worry about knowing where the buttons are in the dark aka when I'm trying to watch a movie. Great device 10/10

The Best PC Remote I Have Found So Far
This thing is so close to being perfect. It's the best PC remote I have found, and I've tried maybe 4-5 over the last 5 years. The big issues: • No F1 - F12 keys. • No option to manually switch which side you are using. Instead it senses which way is up, which sucks to use from bed. • The USB dongle can't be stored in the remote while batteries are in it. It's so close! It can record IR TV commands from another remote. Though I hate that it is a sensor to switch which side you use, it is very responsive in doing so which is nice. It's responsive and the mouse movement feels nice. It has shift, alt, windows, and ctrl keys, which many remotes lack! The USB dongle actually can be stored in the battery area, but only when there aren't any batteries. Gah! Better than not being able to at all, but man, so close! Make a spot for it with batteries!! Buttons feel nice to press. It has media keys! I don't know why, but many remotes lack the pause, forward, and back media keys! Please please release a remote that fixes my 3 bullet points. I will buy multiple in a heartbeat. I am okay if you gotta increase the size of the remote even!

A concern or two but it does what it claims extremely well. (Edit: Got two more. found an issue)
I've been using this thing for about a week and am genuinely impressed. It seems that whoever designed it actually put some thought into it. Kudos to whoever that was. Before I go into further detail, I want to mention that the main reason I chose this remote because it has removable batteries (very important to me), is backlit, and has keyboard/mouse pointer support. Also know that I'm using this remote with a Linux based system; i.e I cannot comment on any features/functionality/buttons specific to windows 11 HTPC. Other than a few win11 centric buttons that don't work with linux, everything else works perfectly. First, the good parts: - Removable batteries: Takes 2 Normal AAA batteries as advertised. - Mouse functionality: It's no wii remote, but that's understandable given that it works without a lightbar (a good thing IMO). it works well enough for casual use. The pointer is stable and can be moved precisely (doesn't jitter when held still). - Keyboard functionality: Compact layout, identical to the one shown on here. The keyboard behaves like a normal PC keyboard. e.g. pressing Ctrl+Alt+T brings up the terminal like usual. - IR remote: works as stated in the manual that came with the remote. No complaints. The surprising (also good) parts: - Automatically disables the bottom side of the remote: The remote senses which side of the remote is facing upwards and turns off the other side (disables keys, turns off the backlight). - Automatically resumes mouse mode when you flip the remote to use the keyboard: Mouse mode is usually toggled (i.e you turn it on, use it, then turn it off when you're done) but it can be automatically suspended and resumed when you flip the remote when mouse mode is active. Now for my concerns and criticisms: - No scroll functionality as far as I can tell. They never advertised this so this is more like something I wish they included. - No information about waterproofing: I already spilled a small amount of water (droplets) on it but I don't know how it will handle a larger amount. They never advertised this so this isn't something I'm going to hold against them. - Nothing mentioned about security on their amazon page or in the manual: Most big-name manufactures use strong encryption to protect passwords, credit-card numbers, social security numbers when your key presses are sent from your keyboard to your PC. I've asked the seller about this but haven't heard back from them. I will edit this review if they do reply. - Missing keys. Page up, Page Down, Home, and End keys are missing from the remote as far as I can tell (not available with the Fn key). They did not advertise this so I wont hold it against them. Conclusion: All in all, I'm very, very impressed with this product overall - so much so that I intend to buy another one as a backup in about a month (already in my amazon cart, will wait to see if other issues pop up first). It's clear that thought and care was put into its design. My only real concern is that of security. However, since I'm only using this to control my HTPC, the security of my key presses is not really a concern for me. So this product gets a 5/5 from me. --- After a few months of moderate use, the remote held up petty well. Noticed no issues except that the 'N' keyboard button will not work unless I press down on it with considerably more force than any of the other buttons. The button works, but I thought this was something worth mentioning.

Gets the job done
It says it's only compatible with Windows, but I was able to plug the dongle into my Linux PC and it worked immediately, no fuss. Works great for what it is and looks pretty sleek too. Battery compartment is hard to open but I guess that's better than opening accidentally. Just keep in mind the power button at the top is to turn the computer off, not the remote, and Windows doesn't warn you before it starts shutting down... Whoops!

Awful awful awful. EDIT: Trash
EDIT: more complaints Several keys have now started double and even triple clicking. I've only had it 6 1/2 months. They clearly used the cheapest switches available. I was hoping it would last a while since it has no built in lithium ion batteries to go bad, but it's already pretty much end of life at this point. I wish I could look forward to getting something better, but there isn't a whole lot of innovation in this space. I can't emphasize enough how annoying it is when it drops out, as discussed below. Sometimes it does it twice in a row, working for under a second in between. Often it freezes right after enabling the air mouse, so I think it must have already been active and I just turned it off, so I end up mashing the air mouse button 10-15 more times trying to figure out if it is activated but out to lunch again or what, of course interspersed with random bursts where it works for a split second before freezing again and I still don't know if I just deactivated the air mouse with all my mashing or if it did another double freeze. The air mouse button also stops working when it glitches out, but it remembers if it was enabled, but sometimes it times out too. The only way to make sure I'm not waiting longer than necessary is to continue mashing that button until it regains its senses. Often it freezes right in the middle of a click, so the MouseUp event doesn't get sent. When it comes back online, the computer thinks the button is still down when in fact it has long since been released. It only seems to drop out when using the air mouse, but the entire thing stops responding when it does. After writing the review below, I found the user manual, which has instructions for "Recalibrating Sensors" where you press some buttons to activate it and "Leave the remote on a flat surface for a few seconds" to recalibrate it. It seems to me that should allow it to be recalibrated at an angle if one so desires, which I very much do. Unfortunately, my excitement was short lived, because while the lights blink like it is doing something, there is NO CHANGE. It also gets squirrely when pointed towards the ceiling or floor. I haven't found an air mouse yet that handles this properly. I'm guessing most of these remotes use the same codebase with minor customizations and nobody's bothered breaking out their linear algebra or trigonometry book to fix it. If you use AutoHotKey to remap all those useless Windows 11/10 buttons, good luck.... you can't remap Task Manager (I think it is ctrl-alt-del), and other buttons like Tab, Win, Esc, MenuR (ie right click) are essential keys. Maybe they could be remapped using AutoHotKey's various Send modes, I don't know. Instead of all those pointless shortcuts (Notification? Browser?? Settings??? Action Ctr???? etc), here are some suggestions for the developer that are more than mere novelty, and I hope they become standard in every remote/keyboard/whatever: Previous Tab, Next Tab, Open In New Tab, Open In New Background Tab, Close Tab, Previous Desktop, Next Desktop, and obviously Scroll Up and Scroll Down. Finally, the black coating on the buttons is starting to wear off already, and the backlight is starting to show through where it shouldn't. Like I said, this is less than 7 months old, used mostly for watching movies, so hardly heavy usage. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've had a few different similar remotes and they all disappoint. This one does not disappoint in its disappointment. The worst thing is the dropouts. Every 20-30 seconds it completely stops working for 1-5 seconds. Completely. If you're dragging something, when it happens, good luck. I've tried all different USB ports, I've tried putting the receiver a foot away, fresh batteries, nothing works. The 'd' key needs to be pressed with about 5 times the force required for any other button. There should be a button to "level" it, i.e. put it in your local coordinate system rather than the global coordinate system, so you can lounge in whatever way you choose without having to contort your hand to keep the remote upright in relation to Earth. I'm not aware of any remotes with this feature, which isn't surprising since these companies do is copy each other instead of innovating unique ideas that push the product forward. There's more to say, but since I'm not adding photos nobody will read this anyway. EDIT: I am adding photos

Win11 compatible, easy to set up & use
The product page is advertised for Windows 10 but it's been updated for Windows 11! The computer I am using it with is still on Win10 and has no issues. The wireless dongle makes it plug'n'play. The air-mouse feature is awkward, but still beats getting up from the couch to grab a mouse. Having buttons specifically for the Windows interface is convenient as you can open and close menus with ease. I would recommend watching the provided video on how to record your old remote's buttons before attempting as the written instructions in the booklet were a little vague. The buttons have a good snap to them and the remote itself doesn't feel bad to hold at all. My only real complaint is that the backlights are very weak and "splotchy"-looking. The light is very weak under some buttons. Overall I would definitely recommend this for use with a Windows OS.

LOOK ELSEWHERE! - SAVE Your Money and get the Rii MX3 at $10.99
This is not that bad of a remote. It works exactly as they claim. I do like the dedicated Windows buttons, and it works from a distance, which helps. However, I would say DON'T BUY THIS REMOTE. Here is a list of reasons why: (1) To activate the fly-mouse function, you must press a special key. I don't really have a problem with that, except that every other similar remote I have used does not have a button like this. I find it awkward. (2) You can easily program your TV or other device in a fairly simple fashion. I programmed my TV volume up and down buttons to the same buttons on the remote. However, There is no MUTE Button! Besides the Fly-Mouse function, MUTE is something I want on a constant basis. I was forced to program another key for MUTE. However, to get MUTE to work, I have to press the TV button, then my programmed MUTE key (which does not say "mute"). Very cumbersome. (3) IMO, the Form Factor of this remote is terrible. It's much more narrow than other remotes I use, and it makes it difficult to hold and access buttons with the same hand. (4) The buttons are very flat on the remote, so it's hard to feel with your finger and know what button is what. Other remotes have buttons that are fairly tall and/or have some little bump on the button surface so you can tell what button you are pressing without looking. I have trouble operating this remote in the dark. (5) This remote is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE given the other remotes on Amazon. For Example, I find the Rii MX3 remote to be a much more user friendly remote, and performs all the most used functions better than this remote does. NOTE that the Rii MX3 is only $10.99 here on Amazon. This Pepper Jobs (I have no idea why they call it that) remote is a whopping 25 bucks! SAVE Your Money and get the Rii MX3 at 40% the price of this thing! DISCLAIMER I am not compensated by any of these sellers. However, I have used and own about 6-7 remotes, and the Rii MX3 is my favorite.

Good but outdated design choices
Needed a remote that works both with IR & PC controls at the same time. This works for that purpose 100%. However, I'm torn between 5 stars and 3 stars because this remote is the best out of 5 I've bought on Amazon, but also it's more frustrating that something so close to being perfect flumbles at things the cheaper ones do better. 1) not rechargeable, why. It's cheap and easy to put a rechargeable battery in here and it would mean you don't have to use AAA batteries. I didn't use this remote for awhile and they leaked which caused me to throw this remote away. It wasn't that big a deal at the time because I already had lost the 2.4ghz dongle. It's designed so you can put the dongle away into the remote ONLY when there's no batteries. So you're stuck between leaving the dongle on top of the remote when it's not connected to a PC (making it easy to lose if you still use the IR function, which i did) or oh have to take the batteries out to store it meaning you can't use it at all. So I chose to leave the dongle next to it and it got lost. A rechargeable battery with a smaller opening to store the dongle would've been a massive upgrade and it would mean id still have this to use. 2) no Bluetooth, only 2.4ghz. it's a better experience to use the dongle because the signal is stronger, but it's not 2010. Everything has Bluetooth now and it's very inconvenient to not have Bluetooth especially when the dongle is lost and a majority of its functionality is now lost. If these two things aren't a big deal then it's a great mouse, remote and keyboard. Works on Linux too which is awesome so again, the best I've used on here in aspects other than the 2 issues above. But again it's frustrating because way worse air mice I've gotten have rechargeable batteries and Bluetooth so despite being worse, I used them more and still have them and they still function. Whereas this one because of these two simple design choices have made this one ewaste

Handy for couch control on my mini PC
Got this mainly for using with my Windows mini PC hooked to the TV setup was plug-and-play with the USB receiver, no drivers needed. The gyro air mouse works smoothly for pointing and scrolling from the sofa (about 8–10 feet away), and the backlit QWERTY keyboard is a lifesaver in dim rooms (lights turn off after a bit to save battery). Learned a few TV power/volume keys from my old remote easily. Been using it daily for browsing and media no lag issues so far, and the 3-in-1 design (mouse/keyboard/IR) makes switching simple. Solid little gadget for HTPC setup

Pepper jobs w10
