I purchased this protein powder for the first time and I’m glad I gave it a try. The Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor genuinely tastes good without that overpowering artificial sweetener or chemical aftertaste that a lot of whey proteins have. Even mixed with just water, it’s smooth, not overly chalky, and actually enjoyable to drink after a workout. With milk or blended into a shake, it honestly tastes more like a dessert than a “clean” protein powder. One of the biggest reasons I bought this in the first place was the ingredient list. This company keeps it simple compared to a lot of protein powders loaded with fillers, gums, artificial dyes, synthetic sweeteners, and unnecessary additives. This protein avoids artificial flavors and sweeteners entirely and focuses on whey protein isolate with a short, cleaner ingredient list. That matters because a lot of protein powders include things like artificial sweeteners that leave a weird aftertaste or upset digestion, excessive gums/thickeners, cheap filler ingredients, added sugars, or proprietary blends that hide what you’re actually consuming. This one feels much cleaner and easier on the stomach than many competitors I’ve tried. No bloating, no heavy feeling afterward, and it mixes very well with minimal clumping. The flavor is sweet enough to enjoy without tasting fake. Nutritionally, it’s also solid: 25g protein per serving 5.5g BCAAs 2.6g leucine gluten free no artificial flavors or sweeteners My one real complaint is the packaging. The bag itself is durable, but the resealable closure is honestly weak and frustrating. Once opened, it can be difficult to fully reseal consistently, and it doesn’t inspire confidence for keeping the powder fresh long term. I’ve had to double-check the seal multiple times or transfer it into another container to avoid it partially opening. It’s disappointing because the product inside is genuinely excellent, and the packaging feels like the one area where corners were cut. Overall though, this is easily one of the best-tasting “clean” protein powders I’ve used. If you want a whey protein with quality ingredients, strong macros, easy digestibility, and no weird chemical taste, this is absolutely worth trying. If Ascent improved the bag seal, it would pretty much be a perfect protein powder.

I purchased this protein powder a couple years ago and was obsessed with it. It was so good that I would often go lift weights just because I was craving the protein so much (peanut butter chocolate). I was really looking for a good protein without all of the junk ingredients that most other protein powders have. I bought some more this winter and was surprised to find that they added soy to it. I still decided to buy it because I loved the flavor so much and it still had better ingredients than others. I’ve been drinking it consistently (twice a week) since I got it in the winter and have noticed some chunks of something at the bottom of my bottle every time. Today while drinking it I got 3-4 large chunks in my mouth of what I assume is soy (not sure because I didn’t have this problem before). It looked almost like if you broke a coffee bean in half and threw in a couple in my shake. The chunks were very sticky and didn’t taste good. Not happy about that and I still have half of the bag left, I hope the rest is chunk free but I doubt it will be. Disappointed in the changes they made to this product.

The last two bags I got the ziplock closure at the top didn’t work. This bag has the seam separating on the side. So 1-Star for packaging. The powder itself dissolves great and the chocolate peanut butter tastes great. So giving it 3-stars.

Best tasting protein I have ever had. Especially with Milk.
