What makes steel targets a better choice than paper targets for practice?

Steel targets provide instant audible and visual feedback when hit, helping shooters quickly confirm impacts without walking downrange. They are also reusable, making them a durable and cost-effective option for frequent shooting sessions.

What's the difference between 3/8" and 1/2" AR500 steel targets?

3/8" AR500 targets offer a great balance of durability and portability for most range use, while 1/2" targets provide added thickness and weight for more demanding shooting applications. Choose based on your shooting needs and preferred setup.

Can these targets be used for different types of shooting drills?

Yes. The targets are suitable for a wide variety of shooting exercises, including accuracy training, target transitions, speed drills, and general practice. Multiple target sizes can help create different levels of challenge and training scenarios.

Can I hear the hit clearly?

Yes. Each impact produces a sharp, satisfying "ding." You'll know instantly when you hit the target. No second-guessing, no walking downrange to check.

Is this target good for beginners?

Yes. The clear "ding" feedback helps new shooters know when they hit — so you can focus on your aim, not your eyes.

takes steel like a… cheap motel mattress takes abuse—built tough, sings when struck, and somehow still sounds expensive

Great targer

Had this piece welded with rear support welds on top of a full body plate, as a head target. Should last a lifetime.

Awesome

Very solid and visible. Took 100+ rounds of 556 mostly 62 grain and a few dozen green tips at 50 and 200 and barely a dent. Paint popped as expected, so will hit with a new coat before next time. Will order more including diff sizes.
