Mine did come in fine ball granules, which assists greatly with melting! Bear in mind, as with all stearic acid products sold directly to consumers, this is not pure stearic acid. That stuff is only available in large quantities, and typically sold directly to major manufacturers for specific needs. However, the fatty acid profile of this is excellent for creating a cleansing, thick, creamy lathering soap, especially with the addition of a little coconut oil. You could make something extremely simple, cheap, and effective utilizing this ingredient. The company is very responsive and helpful, and when I made a mistake, they actually helped me make up for it. Please contact them directly if you need the exact ratios for formulating.

Works exactly as intended

Read Stearic Acid is an alternative to a grease can, so I gave it a try as we don't cook enough to keep a can around. Also, since putting cooing oil down the drain is bad, stearic acid is a perfect sponge.When done cooking, pour onto fats and/or oils to form a paste, then scrape into the trash. Do not allow the fats to cool, because the combo will turn into cement, and you need to reheat.

Works great. I use it to solidify used cooking oil it takes a good bit but I dont deep fry another so I'm still one one bag over a year since buying. It doesn't fully harden like commercial products but it's a least thick enough to throw in the trash.

I bought this to solidify cooking oil and it worked like a charm. It dissolve quickly in the oil which was still hot from cooking and as it cooled, it’s solidified into a thick mass which I could easily scoop out of the pan, put in a plastic bag and throw away. I like it very much.
