This is the grand daddy of SawzAlls.
This SkilSaw SawzAll is truly a beast and very very powerful which is exactly what is needed for contractor and demolition work.My only complaint about this SawzAll is that brand new out of the box I used it to cut down some wooden deck stairs that were attached to my backyard deck and issue number one is that the trigger switch locked in place and I had to really work at pressing the trigger switch in order to get the SawzAll to stop which is a very serious safety issue because power tools must stop once the trigger switch is released.Issue number two is that the dial which controls the cutting speed of the of the SawzAll will not stay at the number when the number is dialed in.I called Skil and the customer service is excellent, the Skill customer service agent was extremely patient and paid close attention to my explanation of the issues that I am having with the SkilSaw SawzAll and assured me that my issues would be resolved.I have worked with contractors since I was sixteen years old doing carpentry, plumbing and renovations and I have always needed a good SawzAll.I am sixty two years old now going on sixty three years of age and I can tell you in all honesty that I know the difference between a good SawzAll and a great SawzAll and the SkilSaw SawzAll is most definitely a great SawzAll.I used to buy Milwaukee SawzAlls but Milwaukee seems to have disregarded the quality with which they used to manufacture the Milwaukee SawzAlls.I do not understand why Milwaukee does not take the same pride in manufacturing the Milwaukee Sawzalls because Milwaukee charges more then enough for their SawzAlls so I do not and will not ever buy Milwaukee SawzAlls ever again. If you need a heavy duty SawzAll then this is the Sawzall that you should buy because it is very well made and the SkilSaw SawzAll is truly heavy duty, the SkilSaw SawzAll is all business and no excuses.I cut through the nail embedded four by fours posts and the two by twelve inch stringers on the the old deck stairs that were attached to my backyard like if they were made of balsa wood. The deck stair wood was not rotted out, what happened is that who ever made the backyard deck and deck stairs failed to install a concrete slab/concrete footings for the deck stair posts to rest on and instead rested the deck stair posts on the bare soil which caused the deck stairs to start sagging and pulling apart as the soil under the deck stair posts settled over the years. If you fail to use the proper saw blades for the materials that you are cutting thinking to save money on the saw blades that's all on you and nothing to do with the quality and performance of this SkilSaw SawzAll.I used to own a Milwaukee Super SawzAll and from my own personal experience through the years of using SawzAlls this SkilSaw SawzAll beats the Milwaukee Super SawzAll both in price and performance.

Powerful power tool
Fantastic power tool for cutting roots when removing trees/shrubs. The power it provides is well worth having a corded tool

Unboxed, darned solid so far.
Unboxed today, solid as a rock! Looks good so far, just gotta pick up some Diablo 9 and 12 inch blades and give her a test drive! It is heavy...will be interesting to see how that plays into things. Hopefully this old fart can you use the weight to his advantage.

Great deal on a great saw
Great deal on a great saw. Shipped in manufacturers box and box was damaged but saw was fine. Took over a week to receive but i wasn't in a hurry so it wasn't a big deal

Don't waste your money. Poor quality product.
Motor burnt within 10 minutes of use! Crazy. This is a heavy saw, and I thought I was buying the top of the line. What a disappointment. It felt really good for about 10 minutes (maybe less) cutting through the base of some small areca palms. It was cutting smoothly with no vibrations and I was elated. Then all of a sudden the speed decreased, the noise of the motor changed, I started smelling something burning, and smoke came out. I stopped. Let it rest for a couple of hours. Tried again, and got sparks shooting out. What a piece of junk. Unbelievable. So disappointed.

This thing is a BEAST!
I needed to remove numerous large tree roots and a stump from my backyard and already had an inexpensive Chicago Electric 6 amp sawzall that I hoped could do the job. That did not happen. The Chicago Electric is fine for light duty jobs but I quickly realized I was going to need something much more powerful if I were ever going to get the job done. Let me tell you what a difference this SKILSAW behemoth makes. I used a carbide tip 12 inch pruning blade and went through those roots like a chainsaw. The SKILSAW is heavy so you need to be strong to handle it but I could not have been happier with its raw power!! If you need King Kong to get the job done, this sawzall is your best friend. Kudos to SKILSAW for creating this bad-to-the-bone BEAST!!

Great for brainstorming!
I call this my "Idea Saw." Nearly every time I use it, I have to stop, and come up with a different plan. "Oops, I'm shaking this entire wall down! Maybe I should try a circular saw." "Oops, I've accidentally made 4 parallel cuts in this rebar in 3 seconds! Maybe I should use a grinder and cutoff wheel." This saw is fantastic at spurning new and better ideas than whatever I had intended initially! So yeah, it's exceptionally powerful. This is not a surgical instrument. I have 2 reciprocating saws that I could use to carve the works of Shakespeare into a decking board. This is like trying to cut with a live Tasmanian devil. It will 100% do the job, but the way that killing a fly with a shotgun blast will "do the job."Pros:-Great for demo-Of anything-Seriously, you could take apart a submarineCons:-It destroyed my house, killed my dog, and ran off with my wifeIn conclusion, this saw is a menace, and is situationally useful, but know that whatever your plans are for it, it will probably be too powerful.

Absolute beast
When you can't be bothered farting around with your weaker cordless recip saw, grab this. The only possible negative things I can say about it are:- I'm not a fan of the way you switch blades. Other saws do this far better.- If you need delicate accuracy, don't use this. This thing just powers through stuff like butter, but it also has a tendency to wander a bit in my experience when going full tilt.Besides that, the power difference between this and my (very good) cordless are night and day. This thing just leaves the cordless in the dust.

poor quality
I bought two of these, one worked for two months and broke, the other broke after 5 months, it was really bad.
