I would never open the plastic protective case. the air getting to the coins will start the tarnish process. So I have never in all my coin collecting years never open a case.

This is a nice coin with deep impressions that show up well. I have always liked the walking liberty coins, I think they are the best looking the mints ever produced. The copper is polished and bright and for me a good value.
