Overall this appears to be a great dock ladder. It is much more substantial than I thought it would be. I like the fact that it is angled away from the dock so that it is easy to grab the rails and climb up without hitting your hands or toes on the dock. Since we are on salt water I don’t know how it will hold up. But, it is totally retractable and we love the fact that it collapses so you get the value of four steps without having to look at a four foot high ladder sticking up in the air when you pull it out of the water. That was the primary reason we did not purchase a galvanized ladder. My complaint is similar to what one other purchaser wrote. The packaging is terrible. The box came dented and once I opened it I found the assembly hardware had spilled out of its plastic bag. Fortunately all the screws were in the box. Also, IT SHIPPED WITHOUT INSTRUCTIONS! While it is easy to assemble I did have to take it apart because there are two set screws that lock the ladder to the bracket that attaches to the dock and I didn’t realize that until it was assembled and I noticed the ladder pulling away from the dock. So, if you also don’t get assembly instructions be aware of this first step that you must perform or you will be pulling the whole thing apart and reassembling it.

The ladder I purchased for the swim platform for a customer’s boat I did a lot of searching, even went to Boat sales divisions and could not find the right part that would fit this one fit right over the aft edge of the swim platform with three screws and forward with two screws. It was the best and easiest installation of a stainless ladder I’ve ever done. It has protective edges, and the unit folds up and slides very well if you’re going to buy a swim platform, this one, the swim platform ladder this one has assist handles at the top and it folds over the top of the swim platform, which would be compact. It’s a excellent for wrong ladder Stainless very quality and the price was just right. I know you will enjoy the same.

We had wooden stairs at the sea wall on Kake Huron. They were always slimy and took a beating. Installed this ladder last July. It works great. I’m 6,-3” and weigh 230. It was plenty sturdy for me. And yet it is light enough to easily pull out and retract after use. Since it dries out of the water it never gets algae to get slimy. We installed it on the deck at the top of the sea wall. Simple.

I love this ladder. It's very sturdy and well-built and the price was great! The only thing is that when we went to mount it to the boat, we had to install extra support where the ladder was placed or it would just rip out of the floor (we tried and that's what happened). But it was a quick, easy fix. We added a nice block of pressure treated wood underneath the floor of the boat where the ladder would be installed and it is working like a charm!

Using this on a floating boat dock instead of a boat. Impressed by the heavy gauge SS and clean welding joints. Not sure how long the cinching strap will last in constant outdoor exposure but seems easy enough to replace if it fails. Shiny finish to the ladder but steps have PVC pads to prevent slipping.

This is ladder is an ideal replacement for the wooden one my husband made many years ago. What were children then are full grown adults now, and this ladder will certainly support the largest of them. Just received this ladder so it is not yet installed, but the quality is everything I hoped for, and I’m looking forward to my son, installing it on our dock. It is an excellent design, with wide steps that telescope into a smaller size and clip to the handrails, when not in use. I am very happy with this purchase.

For years we had the portable ladder that we had to store and get it out each time we used it. This ladder is permanent so a lot less work for us! The size is perfect and fit where we had a small gate. It is really sturdy and weighs light so easy to bring up. We love ours!
