Rock-Solid 10GbE Performance with Enterprise-Grade Reliability
The 10Gtek 10Gb PCI-E NIC with the Intel X540-BT1 controller is an outstanding network upgrade for anyone needing fast, stable, and reliable 10-gig connectivity. Installation was quick and seamless — plug it into a PCIe slot, install the drivers, and it’s instantly recognized. The Intel X540 chipset is known for its reliability, and this card absolutely lives up to that reputation. From a performance standpoint, it’s excellent. I consistently achieve full 10GbE speeds during large file transfers, virtualization workloads, and NAS-to-PC operations. Latency is extremely low, and there’s zero packet loss or connection instability. The onboard controller handles offloading efficiently, reducing CPU load and keeping system performance smooth even during heavy data transmission. Thermals are well-managed too — the heatsink keeps the card cool, and I haven’t experienced any throttling or heat-related issues. The RJ45 port is sturdy and compatible with Cat6a/Cat7 for maximum throughput. For home labs, servers, workstation builds, or high-speed content workflows, this NIC is a top-tier option at an excellent value. Enterprise-level hardware, flawless stability, and true 10Gb performance.

Initial impression. Works as expected. Major upgrade for my DIY NAS host.
I am recycling a 2014 AMD FX 8 core gaming PC to be a NAS to store data for my small business / SOHO network. This thing was a direct drop in / plug and play with the old PCIe 2.0 x16 slot and operates and full speed. Configuration in OpenMediaVault (Linux) was simply a matter of setting the IP parameters and enabling this controller, disabling the original onboard 1 gig and now I have network connectivity that will outstrip the SATA III disks handily... This uses an established Intel chipset so compatibility between this and the old AMD chipset is quite good. I had opted initially for another brand that worked, for 4 days... I will update my review if there are any problems but as it sits right now, it is working perfectly, and from what I can SEE anyway, it all looks quite high quality, every bit as good as the official Intel cards used in enterprise class servers at a fraction of the cost for this SOHO application.

No Windows 11 Pro Driver in Windows Updates
Works as designed. Bought this from Amazon Resale for a song. Came with all the parts and worked. This card runs warm. However my case has VG ventilation and is not an issue. There was no driver for Windows 11 Pro Update to automagically install the part. A manual install of the Windows 10 driver was necessary. If you know what you're doing its not hard, still was not a "point 'n click" installation.

Impressive. Love it. Takes advanage of super speed ISP
Easy install. No issues. We have 5 Gig Google Fiber. I connected this NIC by DAC directly to a Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Fiber DAC port. Awesome throughput. If you pick this up and have a DAC port, get the DAC version and DAC cable, you won't be disappointed. The speed is phenomenal and you won't be disappointed in the connectivity.

Absolute JUNK. Sloppily mismanufactred from used parts.
Inexplicably, these boards come with a chip that went out of production (by Intel) a decade or more ago. But even if this an Intel chip, the card has incredible physical problems. The backplate is the wrong one for this card or the board is cut wildly incorrectly so when the card is plugged into the slot, the backplate is WAY higher than it should be, so you have to bend the backplate to screw it down. And the heatsink is mounted too low and interferes with parts on the motherboard. And parts are soldered to the board badly crooked. It looks like it was hand soldered. Like the chip and board are reclaimed from pieces of old, discarded boards. And they overheat, and blahblah. Absolutely AWFUL.

Driver is needed - Works with Win10 and Win11
Works well with Win10 and Win11. Need to install the latest driver from the Intel website.

Failed after 2 months of use in Synology DS1621+
For the price, was a decently good value until the card failed 2 months into use. Hopefully, it was just one bad card and not indicative of the overall manufacturing quality of these cards as a whole.

No issues in a windows pc
So far so good. Works fine in a windows PC connected to a 10gtek SFP module in a trendnet managed switch (and full speed when talking via that switch to a TrueNAS server with an intel X540 nic and twinax sfp pair)

conseguir fazer funcionar no 10G
