EquiGroomer 5-Inch Undercoat Deshedding Brush for Dogs & Cats, Turquoise

Well. This is an amazing little tool. I used something like this on my horse back in the 70’s. It was way larger and so satisfying during shedding season. But this one for my long haired Shollie? I love it so much! Floyd dislikes his brushings, but he loves this thing and lays down to enjoy it. It was able to remove most of his undercoats, and it’s helping me clean up his skirt. He’s so shiny now! 🤩 It’s made of beautiful wood and feels pretty solid. It doesn’t scrape his skin like other shedders (this is a big deal). No hair to clean out of brushes or combs. But plenty of hair to clean up. 😆

Best product EVER!!! I ordered this easygroomer after watching Girl with Dogs on YouTube ~ I’ve never been so pleased with a single deshedding tool! Like one of the other reviewers, I opened it and thought “…REALLY???”. Well big YES, REALLY!!! I brush and comb my 19+ year old kitty Maizie several times a day because she loves it. THIS equigroomer took it to an entirely different level! Within FIVE MINUTES I had a humongous pile of fur removed from her! She was constantly purring LOUDLY the entire time! Next cat, the predominantly outdoor one, Mr Angel Fluffy, who loves pets and cuddles but not keen on combing, LOVED IT! Both kitties are short haired, by the way…and it left both of their coats feeling AMAZING! I know they HAVE to be feeling so much better, too! (I’m going to test this on another neighbor’s long haired kitty!) I’m soooooo excited about this product that I’m gifting two of my friends one so they can share in the magic of this product as well! The quality is great, easy to sanitize, easy to use, so worth every penny spent!

I’ve reviewed several Amazon purchases before, and have found some things I really love, but this is the first time I wrote a same day review because a product was just that good. This brush is THAT good. We recently adopted a local stray cat I named Ducky. She’s been having problems with throwing up and coughing up hairballs. She isn’t long haired (one parent was medium haired though), but she sheds a TON. I was brushing her daily, and thought the brush I was using was doing a good job of getting the hair off. But even with hairball supplements and daily brushing, she was still having hairball issues (yes, she’s been seen at the vet). I decided to look for a brush that would get into her undercoat better, and came across this one. The reviews were good, so I figured why not, and bought it on a whim. The brush was delivered today, and as soon as I opened it and looked at it, I figured there’s no way. I almost didn’t even bother trying it. But I decided to just see what it would do on Ducky. As soon as I started brushing her, I was floored. This is the amount of hair I got off of her today, after just having brushed her yesterday. Mind you, that ball in my palm is squeezed TIGHT (more on that in a minute), almost like it could be its own cat toy-so that is a LOT of hair! I did that in less than ten minutes. Now, I do have a couple small cons, but even those aren’t that bad- First, I do wish the brush wasn’t quite so wide. Ducky is a very petite girl, and it felt a little too big for her unless I was going over her flanks. Granted, it still worked amazingly, but a narrower brush would be better for my purposes. I’d love to see a narrow/petite option. Second issue is the mess this thing makes. Because of the design, it does not catch and hold the hair like most brushes do. I learned very quickly it will go everywhere-so I had to keep grabbing the hair that was coming off her every few strokes and just kept it in my fist (hence the very tight ball). Even doing that, there were still some fluffies that were flying around. It wasn’t a huge deal to me, since I’m already accustomed to vacuuming/lint rolling after brushing anyway, but it was a learning curve to not make a complete mess and have fur everywhere. For her part, Ducky seemed to enjoy it decently well. But in order for that to be so, I had to be careful how I brushed her, because this thing is hard. But again, I think a lot of that comes down to the size too. And while she did well with it, I don’t think she liked it as much as her others. What really throws me is that this thing looks like it’s just a fine hacksaw blade that is kind of wavy, embedded in a block of wood. Who knows, it works!

When I buy something I usually look at the worst reviews to see what I should be expecting if it turns out to be trash. I saw a few shorts on youtube using this, and my cat hates typical brushes so I figured i'd buy it and try it out. As those negative reviews tend to point out, this is literally a saw blade embedded in a block of wood. If that makes you feel uncomfortable to use on your pet, you've been warned. If you still want one and have the means to make one yourself, since it is just a saw blade and some wood, do that instead of buying one and save some money. That being said everything else I read basically didn't matter. My cat loves this thing, it's the only brush I've ever used on her that she not only willingly lets me us on her without her attacking me, but the only brush that actually gets rid of her lose hair. She gets mad at me when I stop brushing her and will sit by the brush and stare at me for hours until I get up and start again. Its alot easier to clean up then her old brush, all the hair either sticks to the blade and is pulled right off or clumps up by her tail and I can pull it off in one big wad. Alot of the comments i read were concerned about hurting the animal if they move too much, since its just a saw blade, but my cat wiggles around and moves as i brush her and she hasn't had any issues with it at all, although I actively avoid her soft tummy just incase and only go around her back and sides. Otherwise its an amazing brush, but if you can get one cheaper or make your own I'd recommend that over this 20 dollar one. The cost alone for what it is is the only reason it's not a 5 star.

I would like to give this "brush" 4-3/4 stars because it does not collect all the loose hair that comes off your pet. It's not really a brush or a comb, but has a wavy edge that grabs dead hair. It even gets down to an undercoat. It doesn't pull or tug at the skin. It is NOT a detangler but will remove some of the hair caught in hair mats. It's superb at removing dead hair when your pet is blowing a winter coat, whether you're dealing with a short single coat or a long double coat. After using it, I follow up with a slicker (the kind with covered pins) to collect any loose hair left behind. It not only makes my dog more comfortable, but he looks good and I have a lot less hair on my furniture.

This is the tool you're looking for if you're searching for something for undercoat removal. Honestly. Just click and be so happy. But, if you need more, here's the details. My beloved Master of the Floof, Sebastian Pudding Pants, has a thick undercoat that is very soft, which means it can develop shedding mats if it's not maintained. This type of long, soft hair is perfect for this tool. It doesn't take out those beautiful long top hairs, but rather grips the soft undercoat hair and gently glides them out. As you can see from my photo, it really works. And my boy really loves getting groomed with this, which is not the case with the previous tools. Cleaning is easy, with me wiping it off now and again to remove any possible oils along the blade. If you have a cat with an undercoat, this will make both of your lives so much easier. Very highly recommended.

Bought this brush for my German shepherd/Lab mix, and WOW! Found this brush thanks to Girl with the Dogs, and wished I took a before/after pic because I could see the difference. My fluffy boy never really liked it when we tried to brush him, as the brushes we used before were the ones you’d have to remove the hair yourself before going for another go. He’s one that doesn’t like sitting for too long, and still there would be stubborn dead hair left in his coat. This brush was easy to use, and the hair removed was a lot in little time! I could easily handle it while he sat and enjoyed the sunshine! What would take a while, I did in 15 mins! Yes the brush isn’t cheap for a brush, but I find it worth it!

Wow! This works better than expected to comb shedding fur off of my dogs. I have a small mix breed dog with wiry fur and a large black lab. I’m amazed at how much fur this helped remove. It’s so easy to clean the brush too. No fur gets stuck on the bristles so just a rinse under water and it’s ready for storage. My dogs seemed to love getting brushed with this thing! So impressed.

Excellent product. It works so easily without using any force.

Honestly this is worth the price just for the time it has saved in dealing with a dog that sheds a lot! I’m amazed by how well it works and wouldn’t waste money on cheaper options if you have a dog with a double coat.

I follow a ‘girl with the dogs’ and after seeing her results consistently I decided to Google search this tool. It came up on Amazon, delivery said 1 to 2 weeks and it arrived in two days. I am super impressed and I’ve attached a photograph after only stroking my cat about six times with the Equi groomer. I’ve been using this daily on both my cats and my short head dog and the results are amazing, I highly recommend this product.

Nice product and very usefull product for dog owners. The hair doesnot get stuck in the comb.
