I am planning on getting a traxxas slash 2wd, but I am not sure if this has the same output rate as traxxas batteries?

Yes this will work in a Traxxas slash very well I run 6200mah in mine. The battery has a deans t-type plug so you will need an adapter in order to plug Traxxas to deans.
