can it be used to detect warm air loss from a house

Hello,Thank you for your message! Please be advised that this unit will detect differences in temperature from one spot to another. So if you are checking the temperature of a spot not near the door/window, it will show you the difference at the window/door.Thank you for your interest!Regards,Customer Service

Does this kit come with any kind of a case?

It does not. The Flir E4 on up comes with hard case.

can i use this device to detect rodents or rats or mice or cats behind walls ?

Hello,Thank you for your message. This item should detect a live source of heat (not dead) - it does not see through walls. It depends on the heat differential, and the thickness of the walls. It reads the radiant heat off of a surface - so if the wall and animal are the same temperature, there will be no difference. It is not an x-ray device, but simply a thermometer. Please let me know how I can further assist you, and thank you for your interest in our storefront!Regards,Customer Service

Great image quality and easy to use

I had a radiant floor leak somewhere and needed to track it down. It did a fantastic job easily locating the under the floor leak within less then a foot. This made the repair job much easier with less destruction of the floor area. It easily paid for itself the first time out. I then used it again in the winter and found a bunch of area's were heat was escaping from my house, some new gaskets and insulation bingo, now i'm saving on my energy bill! Great product! Its not cheap but beat the heck out of hand held temperature guns and other devices.

Manejabilidad

Detecta perfectamente el calor y las conducciones de calefacción. Es para lo que la he usado. Muy bien con el laser que lleva pa la ubicación. No le doy el cinco porque todavía no la he usado un tiempo prolongado
