Australia released, NTSC/Region 0 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital 2.0 ), ANAMORPHIC WIDESCREEN (1.78:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: 2-DVD Set, Interactive Menu, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: Steven's got a lot on his plate--he and Peridot have to stop the cluster, protect the earth against enemies old and new, and all the residents of Beach City seem to have problems that need Steven's help! There are still things about his family, powers, and the gems that Steven doesn't know. But don't worry, there's still time to sing! This series is set in the fictional Beach City, where ageless alien warriors, the Crystal Gems, live in an ancient beachside temple, protecting the world from evil. They project female humanoid forms from magical gemstones that are the core of their being. The Crystal Gems are Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl and Steven, a young half-human, half-Gem boy who inherited his gemstone from his mother, the Gems' former leader Rose Quartz. As Steven tries to figure out his powers, he spends his days with his human father Greg, his friend Connie, other people in Beach City, or the other Gems, whether to help them save the world or just to hang out. He explores the abilities passed down to him by his mother, which include fusion (the ability of Gems to merge their identities and bodies to form a new and more powerful personality). ...Steven Universe: Season 3 - 2-DVD Set Review: Steven Universe is such a sweet, genuine show - (Note: I've only bought a couple episodes on desertcart, but this review is for the series as a whole) Steven Universe is such a sweet, genuine show. Watching it in release order is rewarding because the series introduces you slowly to a version of our Earth that's familiar but not quite the same, because of the presence of the Crystal Gems - rebel aliens who are the only survivors of a war fought thousands of years ago, who now do their best to protect the Earth. Meeting the gems - and Steven! - and learning about them through Steven's POV is great. Characters are generally kind and genuine, but with realistic flaws and emotional reactions. The music is top notch. Character designs are nice, and the show as a whole is well animated. Really strong color schemes at play - I'm wicked impressed by the lighting in certain scenes. Certain elements of the show call back to 80's nostalgia, but the show is of infinitely better quality in terms of visuals when compared to most anything from that era. Voice acting is great. I don't know, man, it's a kid's cartoon but it's super great and I enjoy it immensely. Review: This show is absolutely the best. As of right now I'm pretty certain there ... - This show is absolutely the best. As of right now I'm pretty certain there aren't DVD releases of the full seasons up to this point, so this is the only "legal" way to obtain the show for veiwing if you don't have cable or have missed past episodes. While desertcart mis-orders and splits up the seasons in a manner that doesn't match the actual run of the show, it's still wonderful to see it. Steven Universe is easily one of the best cartoon television shows I've ever seen. The cast is full of interesting, complex, flawed but also likeable characters who have very real problems despite living in a very magical world. From Steven himself to his loser dad Greg Universe, to Pearl and Amethyst, even to Garnet, everybody is dealing with the kind of emotional difficulties that real people do-- depression, grief, loss, even self-doubt or fear of self-expression. In the end, though they may not always make the right decisions, everybody involved in helping to raise Steven loves him and loves helping him. By season three we're seeing Steven at a time in his life where he's feeling more like he's part of the team and ready to take on the sometimes scary challenges life has to offer.

Creative, Contemporary and Highly Relevent - with Fun!
My 14-year old son mentioned this cartoon a few times, and I finally decided to stream it for him. I found myself watching, enthralled. I need to start at the beginning to catch up, but I have seen enough to know this is quality, unique, creative and ingenious. I love the messages about modern themes, of acceptance and caring and lessons about character, that Steven Universe brings. It is an auditory and visual treat, because of the music and animation. I highly recommend this to anyone from aged 10 up through adult. Be aware that this cartoon covers situations of society that are not always easy to talk about, but should be covered with your child is ready.

A series to watch multiple times.
Season 3 picks right back off from the high point in Season 2. Right from the start we deal with the more serious plot lines coming to play. From where Season 1 & 2 had amazing quality in design and sound Season 3 seems to take everything it has done right so far and make it even better. I have immensely enjoyed how this series has developed. There are various serious issues Steven and the Crystal Gems have to deal with. Along the way we discover and experience the emotions and the bond that the characters throughout the show have. This is a show in which I can count on for solid character development and high production quality. The music and design have impressed me especially. I have come to highly respect this show and the creators. I am looking forward to how this series develops.

From the perspective of a 22-year old who loves cartoons..
Fantastic show all around. This is what cartoons should strive to be! + Great characters full of depth and emotion + Ongoing story line - great to see how what happens in one episode carries on to affect future episodes. EX: One character receives a scar from protecting her friends. Over the next two or three episodes, the scar is shown to be healing. + Fantastic art and music + Full of heart and lessons to be learned + Mature take on concepts such as same-sex relationships, death, parenthood + Funny and appropriate for all ages Only con: Wishing each episode was a bit longer :)

Watch this show!
This show is amazing. I can not state enough how much I love this show. The characters are silly but complex, the stories are goofy but have gravity. The show manages to balance the weight and emotion of these characters and events with outlandish alien rock people. If I had to describe this show in one word it is acceptance. Every character has flaws and problems but are accepted and loved unconditionally by the others. Even the dead beat dad trope is turned on it's head. Probably the best exploration of interpersonal relationships on TV, let alone in children's animation. Watch this!

This show continues to rock my socks!!
Ever since I got into this show, I've never been disappointed. Even the less plot-heavy "filler" episodes are well done, full of heart, and put a smile on my face. The themes presented in this show can range from subtly placed to in-your-face, and I love it. The characters have depth and multifaceted personalities, without banking on stereotypes. The music is sweet and creative, and the art and animation continue to impress! I honestly can't get enough. Hit me with your best shot, Rebecca Sugar!!

Just amazing
This is by far one of the greatest cartoons of all time! The deep story line behind it all encaptures me and draws me in its insane! At first I thought it was just a stupid silly cartoon but it's so much more than that! It's actually taught me a lot about love and life! And I'm 23!!!! Haha! Yayyyyy Steven! Garnet is my favorite gem of the show! Her fusion is exactly what I want my husband and I's relationship to be! Haha YES LIKE A CARTOON!
