Pearled vs. Non-Pearled Is The Question!
If you've ever worked with farro then you know the difference between regular, non-pearled farro and the semi-pearled and fully pearled farro. The non-pearled farro has the whole grain intact and takes longer to cook, we're told it also has more flavor because it has the whole grain intact so I always have used non-pearled. When I purchased this pearled farro product it was my first time using it as I needed to find a way to speed up the cooking process. (I make large batch meals for a local homeless shelter in a small kitchen) I have to say I found the finished product to be tasty and it shaved about 45 minutes off the cook time. If you're grinding up farro to make flour then non-pearled is what you need to use but if you're cooking with it I found this brand of pearled farro to be tasty and much quicker cook times. I recommend the product & the seller.
