I found this nursery after watching a few videos on this YouTuber channel and he recommended them and honestly so far they are growing, but I let them fern out instead of picking them this year. So far I believe 3 to 4 of them I assume have died because they did not sprout. The only reason why I put them in a small pot is because I could not get to plant them immediately. If I’m truly going to be honest, the package what they came in did not look so great for me because it was humid and I thought I saw more so I did what I had to do. But the overall health was good and they seem sturdy and the size was good as well. I will try to keep you guys updated on what is happening next year if they survive the cold because I am in Massachusetts.

My crowns arrived on the 17th of Nov. I stared at them for about 3-4 days. I planted them trench method style about 8-10 inches deep using top soil, manure (Lightly), and Perlite, as my base which was about 2" thick. Covered with about 2" of sandy soil and waited. Today the 24th of Nov. I noticed what I thought was a stick in the trench and reached over the check it out. Glory Be!!! 3-4 inch asparagus spear in 4 days!!! Cool! I am going to pick up some course sand today,mix it with perlite, and some topsoil and when a few more spears pop I will add a couple more inches of soil blend. I will follow this process till trench is filled to ground level. Very satisfied! Happy Old Man!!! Hud Now the 20th of Dec. zone 9A Gainesville Fla. 100 percent germination. Crowns are approximately 2' tall except for a couple of late bloomers which are slightly smaller. Very satisfied! Highly recommend! Hud Too be continued.

Had problem at first only delivered half my order but once we got on the same page I have to admit almost every plant sprouted so pretty happy.

1-year update: Was so pleased with healthy crowns last year that I ordered 10 more this year and they started growing almost immediately. New growth is thick and healthy and couldn't be more pleased overall! Many, many suppliers sell tiny and dried out crowns but these are big and fat and are moist and healthy upon arrival. Fantastic supplier and will likely order more next year to keep expending my asparagus garden. Oh, and we harvested our first pick from last years crowns and they are so tender and tasty! Original Review: I had read other reviews but you just never know for sure until you see a product yourself. That said, these crowns are by far the healthiest I've purchased from any vendor. I was replacing crowns I had purchased from another vendor that never came up and these took off like a rocket. I had new spears coming up within days. Like I said above, these are exceptionally healthy and big crowns and overall I'm very pleased. Will definitely order from these folks in the future!

First off, I’m only giving a low rating to catch the attention of the seller and get a response. If I receive a logical explanation, the review will be modified accordingly.I’ve been farming for decades, but is my first time trying to grow asparagus. I’m adding photos so customers will see what this question/review is about. Which leads me to my question… There is a huge difference between the largest and smallest crowns in the package I received. Huge difference. Unless something went horribly awry in the commercial asparagus plot, how is it possible for the largest and smallest crowns that I received to both be 2nd year crowns? Which one is closer to the average size of the 2nd year crowns? They arrived in great shape, some even starting to sprout. Let’s get that straight for sure. No issues on the health of the plant whatsoever. But looking at my photos, the size difference has me baffled. Is the largest a true 2nd year crown? Maybe one that actually stayed in the grow bed for a full 24 months compared to the smallest which may have only had just calendar years to mature? Like germinated in December of 2021 and sold as a 2nd year crown in March of 2023? I’m not trying to be degrading towards the seller in any way as they have a fantastic reputation and I plan to do business with them again in the future. I’m just questioning the goods I purchased as something just seems a little odd here. Thanks for sending 2 extra, by the way. But in all honesty I need to know what I had delivered to me. I don’t want to be full-on harvesting two years from now from crowns that might not actually be 2nd year crowns and degrade the plants ability to produce to its full potential, if that makes sense? Again, no disrespect to the seller intended. That’s not the intention of my review. I just want to be reassured with complete honesty what was delivered to my door. If you’re not sure their 2nd year crowns, that’s fine they’re already in the ground. I’ll treat them as 1st year crowns and move on. If they are, that’s fine as well. Half the shipment just seems smaller than 2nd year crowns that I’ve seen elsewhere. Edit: I’m adding photos I took this morning (3/27/23), 13 days after planting. Looks great! my neighbors gave me a couple & I ordered more. all are coming up & doing very well 7400 foot elevation in Colorado near the river. Super happy with this purchase! I purchased again summer of 25 and just planted them. They arrived with a little mold. I called the vendor. He was awesome. He said he thought they would be fine. I’ve gone ahead to plant them. He gave me a lot of great advice on how to plant and planting strawberries that I ordered from them as well. This is an amazing vendor and a great resource. They also sent some mushroom based plant food, which I can’t wait to try out. I have recommended several of my neighbors and they have had positive experience as well with their products. We all have asparagus, growing like crazy!

Planted two rows of Mary Washington Asparagus I was concerned when one row came up in about a week and is 6 inches tall. The other row a week later nothing! I checked again last night nothing, so decided to call number listed on add in Amazon. Shocked a person answered in less than a minute, not just any person but someone at the actual nursery. He discussed things to check for, I did. I brushed a little soil off the top, there they were...no problem, except me being impatient. I immediately called the nursery; again, same person answered the phone. He informed me he purposely listed his sell, allowing the customer quick access for problems . Great customer service and 100% germination for my asparagus.
