I like this so much better than the plastic mats I have bought in the past. I am using mine on carpet and my only complaint is the rubber grippers that you attach to the bottom of the glass to keep the glass from moving around did not stick well and I have had to try and reattach h them a few times.

I wasn't sure about rolling a chair on glass, but it works fine so far. I would say it is holding up really well I am sitting on it in a Office chair for hours and it's do great so far.

I have a dense deep pile carpet and an Aeron chair in my home office. It was quite difficult to even move the five casters through the carpet before upgrading to glass. A couple of things to consider: Its possible for an old lady to slide the factory box into position even if stairs are involved, but it might be a challenge with models larger than 42". I positioned the box right next to my desk before opening, slipping on the four little bumpers, and pushing the mat the remaining few inches to its final home. Also, know that it is now extremely easy to move my office chair, but it is a little like ice skating - it takes some practice. Finally, the edge bevel is not very prominent and I think that's good -if it was a longer slope the weight would result in breakage where the edge thinned.
