Even better than I thought it would be!
I'm really impressed with the latest Switchbot hub 3, and actually quite surprised how good this with it being a combo of the temp/humidity sensor, IR/bluetooth remote and Matter hub and more! It comes with a USB cable power adapter with a nice "flat" cable, so easy to go under a rug unnoticed or discretely fix to a skirting board. The temp sensor is on the cable just before it connects into the hub so well placed for accuracy. It works in a very similar way to the standalone bluetooth/IR remote to manage control of different devices whether Switchbots own or programming any other IR device. The control dial is intuitive to the type of device you've selected to control, so for example with a Swithcbot colour bulb it changes the bulb brightness, and for an IR controlled speaker (with +/- volume buttons programmed) it controls the volume. The device itself is sleek with a good rubber base for surface placement without moving when used, but it can also be wall mounted and as always there are different options for 3M stick on options, screws etc. It also has approach and light sensors (it wakes up when you get close) , and so a load of additional features that can be built upon with future firmware. All in all a really good bit of kit!

More than just a hub
The Hub 3 is a fantastic upgrade – it’s more like a smart control panel than just a hub. I bought it for the roller shades, but the extra features really set it apart. The built-in environmental sensors are a great bonus and work perfectly with my smart home setup - matter compatibility is great and it works with my Hue setup too. It did take me a little time to get used to the controls (it reminds me of a Logitech Harmony remote, so I kept expecting a touchscreen), but it’s responsive and easy to use once you get the hang of it. I love the sleep mode at night, and the fact I don’t always have to rely on my phone or voice assistant is a big win. Overall, it’s unique in the market and really versatile – highly recommended if you want more than just a hub.

A great Hub
The world of smart home technology can sometimes feel fragmented, with different devices speaking different "languages." Enter the SwitchBot Hub 3, a phenomenal innovation that acts as the ultimate translator and conductor for your entire smart home ecosystem. It's not just an upgrade; it's a transformative leap, solidifying its place as a truly fantastic piece of technology. At its core, the Hub 3 is designed to simplify and unify your smart home experience, and it excels in every aspect. One of its most ground breaking features is its robust Matter connectivity. As a Matter bridge, it seamlessly integrates your myriad of SwitchBot devices, and even some third-party Matter-compatible gadgets, into popular ecosystems like Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Home Assistant. This means unparalleled compatibility, allowing you to control up to 30 devices through a single, unified platform – a dream come true for anyone tired of juggling multiple apps. Beyond its impressive bridging capabilities, the Hub 3 offers comprehensive device control. Its enhanced infrared (IR) functionality is a standout, boasting a 150% stronger signal than previous models and an extensive database of IR codes. This breathes new life into your traditional appliances like TVs, air conditioners, and stereos, allowing you to control them smartly through the Hub 3. It even extends to popular streaming devices, giving you centralized control over your entire entertainment setup. What truly elevates the Hub 3 to "fantastic" status are its intuitive physical controls. The new Dial Master rotary knob and customizable physical and touch buttons on its sleek display provide a tactile, satisfying way to interact with your smart home. Imagine adjusting your AC temperature with a precise twist of a dial, or launching an entire "movie night" scene with a single tap – all without reaching for your phone. This blend of physical and digital control is remarkably user-friendly and incredibly convenient. The Hub 3 also excels in environmental monitoring. With built-in temperature, humidity, and light sensors (the temperature/humidity sensor thoughtfully placed on the USB cable for accuracy), it provides real-time insights into your home's conditions. When paired with the SwitchBot Meter Pro CO2 Monitor, it can even display CO2 levels. These sensors aren't just for display; they unlock powerful automation capabilities, allowing you to create intelligent routines that adapt to your environment, saving energy and enhancing comfort. For instance, you can set your air conditioner to automatically activate when the temperature rises above a certain threshold, or lights to dim as ambient light decreases. From its modern aesthetic and compact design to its straightforward setup via the SwitchBot app, the SwitchBot Hub 3 is a testament to thoughtful engineering. It significantly improves upon its predecessors, offering more device support, stronger IR signals, and the revolutionary physical controls. It's more than just a hub; it's the intelligent nerve center that makes your smart home truly responsive, intuitive, and a joy to live in.

Great Matter Hub
Really impressed with the SwitchBot Hub 3 so far. It feels really well made—the dial is super solid and satisfying to use, and the screen is nice and clear. One of the best parts is the built-in temperature and humidity sensor (which is actually in the USB-C cable, not the hub itself—smart design!). It connects easily with my other devices—TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, and all my SwitchBot gear. Matter support, ties everything together really well. With integration with platforms like Philips Hue through HomeKit. Overall, it’s a great little hub that does a lot, looks good, and just works.

Set-up(s) was a disaster
(Update: Customer service reached out and have sent me some relay tools to use for my Fan Isolator and light switch and the XL Roller shade so I have bumped it by extra star for attempting to make things right.)Upgrading from a Hub 2, I had hoped there would be a significant improvement in automation. Not so much. You can't carry over matter devices from previous Hubs, Only IR. I spent the better half of 2 hours having to add the devices through the new hub to Alexa and then reassigning them to my routines again because removing them and adding to matter will reset all values and treat the devices as if they're brand-new. Connecting to it was a hassle on it's own since the screen would be stuck in Bluetooth search mode even after I had connected to it on the app. It got worse when I wanted to add my Fire TV, it kept rejecting to connect but after consistently mashing the same button I was able to force it to connect. However, the commands on the device would not work and the Fire TV would ignore it. I tried removing and trying again through thr same bluetooth search method but this time it was stuck in the search method and would not budge for 10-15 minutes so I had to hard-reset to factory defaults. Had to do that reassigning Alexa routines AGAIN. The Fire TV connection seems to be working fine as of writing this review. However, it's responses to Routines is still exceptionally slow as is the app access to this device. It has a USB-C output port but I have 0 idea on what it does as I have tried connecting it to various power banks and Switchbot products to see if it could be of any use, still no dice. The most recent issue I have encountered with it is that it sends me presence notifications whenever I am in front of it which is very annoying and which was not present in the previous resets. To get rid of this problem, I have completely turned off it's notifications since there isn't a select option to turn that specific notification off, Only Offline or alert notifications. It's running ok for now.

Seamless setup and a real smart home upgrade
I’ve been using this SwitchBot Hub 3 for a few days now, and it’s quickly become a central part of my home automation setup. The installation was super straightforward, I had it connected to my devices and integrated with Alexa and HomeKit in less than 10 minutes. What really stands out is the versatility. The IR remote function is brilliant, I was able to control my old air conditioning unit, which isn’t smart, directly from my phone. It’s like giving a second life to some of my older tech. The built-in thermometer and hygrometer are a nice bonus. It’s been helpful to get accurate readings for different rooms, especially when trying to fine-tune the heating and cooling. So far, everything has been responsive and stable. It’s honestly taken my home automation to the next level without needing to replace existing gear. Very impressed!

A big step up from older generations of Switchbot Hub
The Switchbot Hub 3 is a nice looking device and a step up from the Hub 2 (which I also own). The controls give you access to your Switchbot devices without having to open the app and can display key bits of sensor information from them right on the hub. Home Assistant can't access most of this functionality yet, but my experience with Switchbot is that they're always improving their devices after release, so I don't doubt that will be possible in the future. It's a great device right now but it also feels like it has a lot of potential for new features and connectivity, so I'm excited to see how it develops.

Has great potential, not so good yet
The video shows a bug, it's not a full representation of the device. UPDATE: Since I had a support ticket with Switchbot, the software issue was recognized and was encouraged to test as much as I want. Changing the review to 4 stars since concerns are not taken lightly by them and the support is handling these cases absolutely great. Let's start with the positives. It allows to connect many Switchbot devices and capable of redistributing them into Matter allowing Apple home, Amazon and Home Assistant to understand them. Looks nice, feels okay. It's a bit firm with the buttons compared to it's weight. Can be attached to a wall, you don't need to have it standing on a table. Temp, humidity and motion sensors are all broadcasted to Home Assistant by default, which is great, they are quite accurate as well. Motion sensor has 3 sets, it will cover for most. Since it sits next to me I'd prefer if there were another option for extra close sensibility only but that might be subjective. Now some bad things. It's September. We were promised to have both Cloud and Bluetooth integration ready by July. Not a big deal if you control it over Matter but here's the kicker, if you reload you Matter server, all buttons set for Matter will be triggered, this is with the Hub Mini Matter enabled as well. This is still not the end of the world as this won't happen often however the device sadly fails when you set up Matter Accessories on it. It tends to freeze and reboot (takes 2 seconds). Might be a current firmware issue and this review may need to be altered in the future when it's getting fixed. - see video, could only reproduce it under Matter accessories menu only. The app is not intuitive and since it communicates with the cloud instead of the device directly, patience is required when you fiddle with it. Lastly, the dial CAN'T be used for too many things like for other brand's blind or light control. Hopefully there will be a software update later unlocking the actual potential of this great little device.

Solution idéale pour rendre vos anciens appareils intelligents.

Everything Just Works! Super Happy with the Hub 3
I don’t usually leave reviews, but the SwitchBot Hub 3 has really impressed me. From the moment I set it up, everything just worked. The app is super smooth and easy to use. I had the hub up and running in no time, and adding devices was a breeze. What I really like is that it has built-in temperature, humidity, and light sensors, which is great for automations. For example, I’ve got it set up to adjust lights depending on the brightness in the room, and it’s been super reliable. I’ve already added quite a few devices (you can connect up to 30, which is awesome), and I’ve had zero issues. Another big plus: it works with Matter, so I was able to connect everything to Apple Home without any complicated steps. Being able to control things through Siri has made life a lot easier. Overall, I’m really happy with it. Everything feels solid and well thought-out. No connection problems, no glitches, just a smooth smart home experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking to build out your setup. I was using the Hub 2 previously and I was able to transfer all my devices to Hub 3 in no time.
