Works great in Chile w/ electric blanket
So I bought one of those cheap converters that had 3 plugs and take in 110-220v and output 110v. I thought how convenient. I tested it in California with an electric blanket and noticed that the blanket didn't get hot, just slightly warm compared with plugging it in directly onto the outlet, so I return it. I tried this unit. Has good reviews and supposedly is able to power hair dryers according to the description (the box that it came in says not to use hair dryers) but I took a gamble anyways. The unit was so much beefier than the previous one I bought before. Once I arrived in Chile, I took the blanket out, plugged it in and work perfectly. The unit doesn't get hot and makes 0 noise. Exactly what I wanted. Glad I went with this unit

Small, Efficient and Effective
Truthfully, I did not know what to expect given the mixed reviews. Prior to using the product I checked the device Watts prior to use. Volts * Amps...or if the device had Watts displayed I made sure I did not exceed the product Watt max. I have used this for my Toothbrush, my Dremel, and have charged batteries for my drill and skill saw. In the kitchen, my wife and I used it on two small blenders. I should have purchased at least two because my wife wants to use it for her small kitchen devices. I highly recommend this product if it is used as directed.

Worked just as I expected
We bought this for a Europe trip to use with a hair curler and hair iron. It worked perfectly well without overheating. Only downside is the weight and the form-factor. It is rather hefty due to it being an actual voltage step down transformer. We packed it in the checked-luggage rather than in a carry-on or back-pack. Despite its "unwieldiness", I recommend this item because I couldn't find a better or more suitable, i.e., lighter and smaller, alternative for a voltage step down transformer.

It fulfills 100% with its function
I bought it to be able to use a 110V air humifier connected to a 220v plug (I live in Chile, South America). I required an alternative that was also capable of providing 300W of power. It is relatively small and unlike similar devices, it does not emit annoying buzzes or noises. I think it would be ideal for people who live in the USA and who for tourism or business must travel to countries with 220v electrical networks.

Must have!
I live in Spain and my bed required 110 volts but the power in Spain is 210 volts. This is the answer! A must have if you are moving to Spain.

Very useful when traveling abroad
It was perfect for my last trip to the Patagonia. If I'm not mistaken, all of the South America countries use 220V electric power, so I utilized this transformer to charge both, all my electronic devices, as well as some small electrical devices such as a computer screen and even a little water boiler.

Heavy
Actual weight is 1 pound, 15 oz., Not 1.1 pound as described in listing. I purchased specifically for weight due to strict limitations on total pack. Weighs almost as much as 1600 watt unit with much less output. So, a disappointment.
