This is a decent voice amp for the price but it can depend on what your needs are. I'm using this for our toddler storytimes twice a week. We are indoors in a large program room that can fit 80 people comfortably but our numbers can get up to a hundred and ten. This amp can still cut through the ambient noise when I read or sing. My set up is, me with the mic in the front and the amp speaker in the back of the room, facing the audience. I have the dial at about a third of the way because I don't want the people near it uncomfortable. Yes, there is a slight echo but when everyone is singing along, you don't really notice. I attach the lavaliere 7-9 inches underneath my mouth. Secondary mic works well for guests. It can amplify both at the same time. You need to remind your guests not to face away from the mic. Normally it will pick up if a voice is anywhere above it, but if they are twisting in such a way that their arm is between the mic and their mouth, then no one can hear them. Note: there's a tiny button to the side of the mics. You can turn the mic off if you aren't in the room. The pickup range between the speaker and mic is spectacular. My families overheard me critiquing my morning tea all the way from our lunchroom. So that's what that little side button does. Remember to use it or everyone will know when your tea is tepid. It has been a few months and it's been knocked off a table once (a hazard with working with kids) but it's still going strong.

This item is perfect for anyone who struggles to project their voice. Like the idea of the magnets that hold the microphone onto your clothes. At first I thought it would fall off but I use it every day and some days I even forget that it's on my clothes. The microphone charges very quickly and the charge will last all day. You however can't keep the base close to you due to feedback. But the microphone is loud, if someone is sitting next to you and they talk, their voice can be captured over the microphone.

The overall design idea is good. I like the way the the microphone charging ports are integrated into the speaker body. The speaker itself was pretty decent. Problem is that there is a delay in the sound from the speaker and microphone. It made it very disorienting like there was an echo for the audience. That defeats the purpose of the device.

If you already have a loud voice, this will amplify it more. If you're getting it because you want to amplify a very quiet voice, the mic won't even pick it up.
