Hey, it's a phone cord
I bought a phone cord prior to this one that was way too long. I wanted something to use when I'm sitting at my desk and the previous one I had draped all over the place. I purposely chose the shortest cord I would find since my phone is about 2-3' from my head as I sit at my desk.I've only had this a few weeks. It works. No problems. However, it's almost too short. It's coiled pretty tightly so when I stretch it out long enough to reach, it's actually springing pulling itself away from my head. I often am typing at the same time I'm talking, so the received is nestled between my ear and shoulder and I find the phone slipping away from me. It's getting better with use and will be fine soon.Just don't think of this as a 6' phone cord. Stretched out to 6', it's going to have a lot of tension. Practically speaking, you're going to get about 3" out of this. It's a short cord, but perfect for when your phone is on your desk and you want to keep clutter to a minimum.

But the best thing about them
The cords work, except for the occasional QC problem. I bought a dozen of them for my office and one of them came with no plug on one end. But the best thing about them, the very best thing, is that they are not truly "black" at all, but are a charcoal color, which is exactly the right color to go with many business telephone systems, certainly with my office's Toshiba systems! For some reason it is very hard to find these, and I'm sticking with this brand which seems to be the only one making the color I need.

not as described
Calling it to stretch up to 7' is rally pushing the description of this cord into the "false, cheating description" range. Even if I stretch it to it's out-most limits, I barely get 6 '. If you would actually have this connected to the headset by the time you stretch it that far your phone base unit surely will crash to the floor. It can not be done, I tried. The picture showing this product also looks a lot longer then what I have. Even I try to curl it like the picture shows, that is just not possible, mine looks like a round circle not like the picture and it will only stay this way if I hold it into position. In fact it's not longer then the one that came with the new phone I purchased.I feel cheated but for that price it's really not worth my time to return it, it's more work then it's worth. It just will go to the electronic recycling place. And for the future I'll make sure to not use Steren Electronics to purchase my electronics anymore, because I really feel they are cheating and cheaters don't get my business a second time

Know what you get
The reason I purchased these cords was because the cord for the handset at work had lost the ability for its coil to snap back in to original coiled position. These cords are displaying the same problem right now. In other words, the coil is not staying coiled. After two weeks of use, this is not displaying the quality required to last a couple of years!the cord length is great, the jack-fit is good and the overall value matches the $5 price tag. As for me? I am expecting to buy a different cord in a few months!

black telephone cord
I really needed a new one and the price was great for this item. I did expect it to be longer. It's only about 2 feet, but I imagine once it is stretched out it will reach the 7 ft. that it claims to be. We are happy to have a new one that is not all tangled up so I'm glad we found this on amazon.

"6 feet"...with 2 bodybuilders pulling it taught end-to-end.
It's a good cord, feels solid, plugs in well. Just be aware of the length. Whatever the "uncoiled" length states, divide that by at least 2 or 3 to get the true, practical stretched length. This 6 foot cord comfortably stretches to about 2 1/2 feet without starting to pull things around on the desk.

Great product
I bought this because my previous boss was a total cheapskate that would not replace anything in the office. His idea of providing supplies was to go to a trade show and pass out the complimentary pens and note pads. I bought this to actually be able to move more than a foot from my phone. It worked well, so well that I took it with me when I left.

Nice and short
The exact size I wanted. Nice and short. I have a land line phone on my computer desk. This is all I needed for the phone, stretched out to about 3 feet without pulling too hard on the wire. Takes up no room when it's coiled up next to the phone. Seems to be a slightly thinner gauge wire than the standard size. I plugged it in and the phone works.

not what I thought
I thought this would have a bit I could clip into phone handset, so longer cord for phone. Alas no. So I had to order a new phone as the previous phone cord supplied with phone gave me a cricked neck as so short!! Wont order either product again, shame as I liked the retro design of the phone. Nothing wrong with supplier or delivery - I just didn't realise the product would be no use to me.

WAY SHORTER THAN PICTURED
The picture is extremely deceiving. The cord has arrived, and is the shortest I have now. Compared to the image, it's about half (or less) "curls" in the cord, and when pulled as straight as possible measures around 6 feet. Extremely disappointed with the false advertising here.

Not recommend
I am in satisfied with this item. Itβs still in the bag. IT IS TOO SHORT THAT I CAN NOT USE. If you put certain length, it should be the length expected to use NOT the length it is when stretched. Who uses it stretched?

Not satisfactory. .
The cord was flimsy and thus didn't stretch properly. .
