The perfect OBD scanner for Do It Yourselfers
Before using this scanner, if your vehicle is older than 25 years, save your money since it is not built for cars older than a quarter of a century. This OBD scanner will help your vehicle operate at its peak since you won't need to worry if your issue is a check engine light, just a sensor, spark plug, or if it could end up being a costly repair job. Remember, this scanner does NOT plug into the battery itself since it plugs into the ( OBD2) port beneath the steering wheel. You can check codes on this scanner before rushing to the mechanic and spending unnecessary money on costly repairs. This should identify issues like an Oxygen (O2) sensor and fuel injection while helping your engine operate in the most efficient and environmentally friendly manner. It is easy to operate and plugs directly into the port below your steering wheel. The controls are basic, and you donโt even need to install batteries. You can check codes on this scanner and therefore can do some of the diagnostic work yourself. It is lightweight, weighing less than a pound ( 12 ounces ), and easy to read because it has a large, clear, colored screen. This includes a 2 1/2-foot cable, so once it's plugged into the OBD port, you will have plenty of slack and legroom to operate this unit. However, it is misleading because it only provides you with the battery voltage, not the battery health. You can check the voltage before you start the car, and again once the vehicle is running, since you should have a different voltage each time. Hope you found this review helpful.
