Smooth taste.

The expiration date is 10/15/2022 so I think it was brewed within a day or two of when I received it. However, the beans are definitely burned and there is very little coffee flavor. The coffee doesn't taste bad or burnt, but it tastes really flat, lacking any notes or aftertaste of any kind. For the money I guess I shouldn't complain. It just sucks that I bought 5 pounds of this stuff so I'm going to have to endure 6 long weeks of bland coffee every morning. It'll feel like a lifetime until I can get back to my favorite peaberry beans. Reading other reviews it does kind of seem like the roaster believes every roast is a dark roast, even though I specifically chose a "medium" roast.

UPDATE: I received a response from the Olde Brooklyn Coffee and they explained that the packing of the coffee for shipping is done by Amazon. They also offered to make things correct and I am grateful for that. I lived in Brazil and appreciate coffee from there. This roast is spot on for morning coffee that is distinct from the cafezinho that is akin to an afternoon espresso. Thanks to Emily at OBCC. Received coffee this afternoon. I love the flavor, and am upset that this is the second time I have received a package that was open. The beans had spilled some inside the Amazon shipping bag. I emailed the company previously and never heard back from them. Unfortunately I have probably ordered my last coffee from the Brooklyn Coffee Company.

We get the medium roast as it works better in a super automatic. We get great crema using these beans and it tastes great. Not burned tasting like starbucks, too, which is nice.
