great smart lock and doorbell!
very easy to use and connected with no problems. I donโt typically use the palm recognition as itโs easier for me to just type my code or unlock from my phone. besides some green residue from the pollen, itโs held up great in all sorts of northeast weather (snow, rain, cold, hot). battery life is pretty good although takes a very long time to charge when it does need to be charged. I love the notifications and how it determines if thereโs motion or if thereโs a human. you can also change the sensitivity if itโs recognizing too much or not enough motion

Best door lock all the way through
The palm scanner is fast and accurate. It recognizes registered palms in about a second and unlocks smoothly. I have tested it in different lighting conditions and temperatures and it has been consistent. No false rejections, no letting in strangers. It knows who is who and responds accordingly. Beyond the palm feature, it has all the standard smart lock capabilities. Keypad codes, fingerprint reader, app control, temporary access for guests. Multiple ways to get in means flexibility for different situations. The palm scanner is the headline feature but having backup options is practical. Build quality is solid and the lock feels secure. This is not some flimsy gadget pretending to be security hardware. It looks and feels like a serious lock that happens to have futuristic tech built in. The installation fit my standard door prep without modification. The app integration works well for remote monitoring and access management. See who comes and goes, create and revoke access codes, check lock status from anywhere. All the smart features you would expect from a premium smart lock in 2026. For anyone wanting to upgrade their door security with something that feels cutting edge while actually being practical, this delivers. The palm recognition is not just a party trick. It is genuinely useful and works every time. Welcome to the future of home entry.

UPDATE: Turned out GREAT! You *CAN* duplicate keys and it offers so much smarts!
This product turned out to be ***really impressive**** and great! It's a unique marvel of multiple products in one device: smart lock with keypad, palm reading, physical key, connected doorbell, digital peephole AND security camera with AI. If you struggle to record your hands, I have a suggestion. See video (uploaded low res for privacy). Start with your fingers on the sensor at the same angle of the palm reader (top of device) and slowly raise your hand while keeping the same angle vs the reader. At some point it will register/recognize it. This process became super simple for the whole family to register all hands. At the location it recognizes the palm you can then make a mark on the door frame with a pencil to help you remember the exact location and angle to use next time. Simple and easy. Also, I read information on the product page, and some reviews likely repeating the page info, that you cannot duplicate the keys "for security reasons". ***BUT*** it turns out you can copy the keys as I did at the local hardware store, nothing different to other keys out there. This may seem like an issue but for us it was crucial to have the reassurance that we can each have a physical key to open the lock in an emergency if the battery or motor fails (it hasn't). So yes you can easily copy the keys (they include 2 with the device). The smart notifications detecting people at the door and recordings you can watch from anywhere and the autolock, state update and temporal passwords are already worth the price. On my first review, I was distressed that it required calling customer support to get the round faceplate to install on the door and that the customer support was not easy to reach. However customer support did reach out and did all they could to help me get the round faceplates quickly. Kudos to the eufy team! I encourage eufy to improve the product and communication in a number ow ways to make it even more awesome: Have better information on keys being able to be duplicated if needed, nothing to fear as every other similar lock out there will let you do that and this is an asset that could turn customers away fearing only 2 keys are included. Also, try to include all the right hardware in the box to avoid the issue of extra calls. Finally better support training to resolve and escalate things quickly. Overall, a great impressive product and team and I look forward to keeping using this device and learning more about the ways Eufy innovates in this space.

Eufy S3 Max is a winner
EXCELLENT LOCK AND APPEARS TO BE RELIABLE. Install WAS EASY but I had to get directions and instructions off the internet. No cable or charger to charge battery was included. Android App works fine as doesn't the many camera I have purchased from Eufy before I replaced a LOCKIN wifi lock that worked great until it didn't. Customer support very good but instead of several emails, requests for pictures, LOCKIN should have just sent me a new unit and let me return the old. Lasted 6 month then lock mechanism would not act on inputs from WiFI and BluT inputs via the app.

Nightmare of a product
I am a big eufy user. I own several eufy products: the cameras, the doorbell, the motion sensor, and the HomeBase 3. I expected the Familock would integrate flawlessly, just like my existing devices. I read the negative reviews, but I assumed those customers received defective units. That assumption turned out to be a major mistake. Installation Was Easy, Operation Is Not Actually putting the lock on the door was easy. The instructions were good, and it went on just fine. The real headache started the minute I connected it to the HomeBase. Literally the next day, the lock just disappeared, it was offline in the app. I thought maybe my whole HomeBase died, but nope! Every other product, the doorbell right next to the lock, the cameras, was working perfectly. I had to close the app and reopen it three times before the lock decided to come back online. I hoped it was just a fluke, but I was wrong. This happens all the time now. The connection is totally unstable, and I constantly have to mess with the app just to see if my door is locked. The Missing Matter/HomeKit Feature Another huge issue is the advertised compatibility. The product description clearly states it supports Matter and Apple Home connectivity. This is misleading. I have repeatedly attempted to connect it to HomeKit, and the app constantly returns an error message: "the camera cannot connect to matter at this moment." The promised integration is completely unavailable. The Failure of Remote Access (And Value) The entire point of buying a Wi-Fi connected smart lock is to have reliable remote accessโto check the status or unlock the door when you are away from home. Because this lock constantly drops its connection, that functionality is nonexistent. I cannot rely on this device when I need it most. Instead of getting a modern, convenient smart lock, I feel like I paid a huge sum of money for a completely unreliable product that barely functions better than a basic In summary: The setup was easy, but the lock constantly drops its connection, making remote access impossible, and the Matter/Apple Home feature is falsely advertised. This product simply does not deliver the basic features expected of a smart lock. Save your money and look somewhere else.

There's a lot to like about this, except for the battery life.
I have been using this for nearly three months now, and I eel like I can fairly evaluate this. It's not my first smart lock, so I had some ideas of what to expect. First of all, installation was super easy, but that might be because I've done this before. It have a single front door with no screen door. This will not be a good fit for you if you have a screen door, as it will block the camera. Setup was also easy, though I will caution you that if you have more than one network at home, like a 6GHz Wifi 6E or 7, make sure your phone is connected to the 2.4/5GHz network before doing the setup. I like that they have their own dedicated app and aren't just piggy-backing off some generic "smart home" app. All of the remote functions work perfectly from the phone, with very little delay, and it does all the things I'd want it to do and then some. The palm reader works cleanly and never has false positives, though I have yet to get it to open the door in the 0.1 seconds they claim. 1-2 seconds is normal, though sometimes it it can take longer. I like that I'm not actually touching it, so no germs and no worrying about wet hands messing it up. I also really like that the keyway is hidden and pick-resistant. They describe it as an "encrypted cylinder" but that's just marketing. It won't stop an expert lock picker, but an opportunistic burglar with a wave rake will likely look for a better target. Another feature I really like is that it will automatically lock behind you, but only if the door is closed. I'm not even sure how it works, but it works quite well. That's the good. Now to the bad. The biggest problem without question is the battery life. Even in "battery saver" mode with motion detection turned off, I am getting almost, but not quite, one month of battery life out of it. That's abysmally bad, but it otherwise works really well and has all the features I'm looking for, so I ordered a second battery. They don't sell them on Amazon so I had to order it direct from Eufy. This way I'll always have one charged up so I can just swap it out. The AAA batteries have barely lasted overnight, so I really need a second battery to swap out. That said, this is a very secure device and a very good deal if you get it on sale, and it seems to go on sale a lot.

Great for quickly checking the door
I really like being able to see whoโs at the door without grabbing my phone to open the app. The palm recognition works surprisingly fast since thereโs no fingerprint recognition, and the connectivity has been solid so far. The ease of use is one of the best parts, especially with the rear screen, and the Instructions were easy to follow during setup. Battery life seems good and the overall durability feels better than expected.

Worth every cent
Iโve had a couple other battery powered locks. None of those can compare to this one. The palm recognition works great even under rain conditions, unlike the finger locks. It comes with a screen in the back that you can manually turn on with a button, and it also turns on when someone rings the door bell. With the app you get notifications, replays, and can see live. You can two way talk with people at the door. You set up palm and code entries through the same app. You can also delete those at anytime you want through the app without having to reset the device like most.

Nice
Its nice and has all the key features such as the video camera, doorbell & passcode. If you forget to recharge or run out of battery you can use a key to unlock as well.

Works. Easy enough install
It's great. I sucked at installing it but if I had ever fiddled with a doorknob before it would have been easier

Worest experience
Just bought this one and the battery can not be charged, and this is even the most expensive one of their lock, would highly doubt the product quality. Contacted the agent and they promised a replacement but the shipment never get updated, and their agent Ann said nothing they can do, so seems replacement is just a fraud to me
