Terratek 20V Cordless Strimmer, Blade & Spool Kit, 2x Batteries & Charger

Out of the box it went together easily i didn't even bother with the instructions much to my wife's chagrin :) i bought it for my allotment which i recently acquired, it was heavily overgrown with clumps of nettles long grass and the dreaded dock leaves, no electricity there so i checked out battery driven strimmer's on Amazon, this one had decent reviews and looked to be good enough for what i required? so i bought it and then decided to check the bad reviews, my heart sank as i read some of these and thought i had made a mistake with the choice i made, anyhow i charged the battery's that turned green after 5 mins charge so they obviously come charged, plus the spare battery is a good addition to the product,and trotted off to my allotment to give it a try, my allotment size is thirty yards long by 8 yards wide so not a bad size. i was pleasantly surprised by the power of this light piece of kit which happily cut through nettles, dock leaves, and tall grass and tbh made short work of the tasks i set it? so i am quite stumped by some of the poor feedback? i swapped the battery after about 35 minutes for the spare one and carried on with my work for another 35 mins before that ran out, but by this time i had covered most of my allotment. i just wish i had my phone with me to show pictures of before and after? and another plus is i finished with the same blade i started with so i still have the 30 blades left that came free with this product, this is a honest review of my experience using it, and i would not hesitate in recommending it highly for garden and allotment work, its easy to set up light and intuitive to use, the guard is firmly attached, and i find the blades adequate? as lets face it i only used one, and not finished with that one yet. i really am stumped with some of the poor feed back it receives, and so glad i bought it on the strength of the good reviews it receives. all in all its excellent for my needs and has exceeded my expectations. so its 10/10 from me cant wait to go back and finish my allotment off :) Super product it really is. follow up report....with pictures and video i cant believe these blades? that came with the strimmer they are incredible, i did all this work with two blades, after three sessions and none broke? just wore down, believe me this is a honest review, see the before and after pics? you can see the job its doing, so glad i bought this piece of kit, its saved me endless hours of sorting my allotment out. and i'm really happy with it, people leaving bad reviews on this product have probably been trying to cut down trees with it? its a strimmer folks, it cuts Grass, Dock leaves,Nettles, Thin brambles not established ones, great for tall grass (see pics) battery is efficient, and great that you get 2. cant really say any more about it...get one..highly recommended, fact.

Terratek 20V Cordless Strimmer works well. Very pleased. I followed a tip from a previous purchaser who had left a review — he found the cutting blades supplied with the machine to be a little flimsy, and he purchased (from Amazon) some sturdier blades. These blades fit the machine and are more rugged. I purchased a packet of 50 of those blades, which should last me some time. (ToPicks Grass Trimmer Gardening Tool Cutter Replacement — 50 pcs, Red) Assembling the strimmer was fairly easy, although the supplied instruction manual is not at all easy to follow. The machine is easy enough to assemble just using common sense. The only tricky bit is fitting the plastic guard, which requires a screw to be inserted (to be found in the packet containing spare blades) once the hole in the body of the machine and the hole in the blade guard have been lined up. Everything else is straightforward. I found performance to be good. There seems to be plenty of power from the 20-volt battery, and if care is taken and you keep the blade clear of stones etc, the wear on the blade is not huge. I am happy with the purchase.

Good strimmer does a great job seems easy on the blades as well as they seem to last forever, battery live seems OK as it came with 2 batteries doesn't really concern me

I paid £86.99p for this on 11th May 2023 and today its simply struggling like no tomorrow, the batteries full charge and it is struggling on the most easiest of tasks. I expected more, I paid more than it is being sold for today and feel very let down not only by the strimmer but this marketplace too where any old tat can be sold, the reviews manufactured etc. I knew this strimmer was never going to be a heavy duty one and for the most part of the year it worked okY doing light tasks and the battery life seemed to be more than ample for what I used it for even though I spent just as much time searching or fitting new blades as they really do go flying off the machine which is annoying at best, but now after 14 months it is redundant, useless, there is no point to it, junk, it will be going to the tip soon enough. So if you want a strimmer for just over a year and don't mind searching or fitting new plastic blades that will, before you know it, fly off the machine and then spend just as much time searching for the plastic blade then this is the machine for you, My advice due to my experience with this strimmer is do not buy if you want something that will last well past the 1 year warranty and as for the replacement blades, they too are pretty pants, end of the day these strimmers are just a gimmick and expensive one at that, they are not any easier to use than a traditional one.

I purchased this Terratek Cordless Strimmer on 29 March 2021. It arrived first week in April 2021. Its a great strimmer for normal light garden homeowner use for trimming grass/weeds and edge of lawn - its not designed for heavy duty professional use - its not a bushcutter. Its easy to assemble. Its biggest selling point is its very lightweight and easy to hold for a long time for example for elderly people and for this I highly recommend - from this point of view its the best strimmer I've ever had - its a pleasure to use and also it cuts well. A fully charged battery lasts about 40-45 minutes and it came with two batteries so when one runs out you can put it on charge again and switch to the other battery and keep on strimming. My previous strimmer of a well known German make beginning with B was too heavy and my arms used to ache after a few minutes of using it. However a few days ago the attachment on the black plastic disc/plate called the "blade holder" (see photo) that you clip the red plastic blade onto broke off while using it. The strimmer came supplied with a spare blade holder and there is a bolt/screw that has to be undone to remove the old blade holder and attach the replacement blade holder. I cannot get this screw undone - 5 burly men who are my neighbours have tried to no avail There is nothing in the instruction manual about removing the blade holder. I contacted the company Futura Direct and their customer service (if you can call it that !) is done by email. I sent them an email on Monday 24 April 2023 describing the problem. They replied promptly saying that the bolt that secures the blade holder to the cutting unit has to be turned CLOCKWISE to loosen it as its a left-handed screw thread. When I told them 5 men have tried and it will not budge at all and we have also tried putting WD40 on it and leaving it overnight their response was because its out of warranty (by about 3 weeks !!!) they cannot help. I replied that this is not a warranty problem because its not due to wear + tear from use its a manufacturing fault. They just stopped responding to my emails. DREADFUL ATTITUDE. I cannot be without a strimmer so I purchased a new one yesterday. But I am FURIOUS and I will report this to my local BBC radio consumer programme. I gave it 3 stars only because of the terrible customer service I got otherwise it would have got 5 stars and then some !

Very pleased with my strimmer, light to use and so much easier now not having extension leads Ideal if your grass is not too long, otherwise it would struggle

I was a bit dubious of buying a cordless strimmer, as I really wanted to avoid cables, I so hate cables. But they can be expensive. Also generally batteries cost money. I saw this strimmer with extra blades and a spare battery and thought it seems like a good deal for the price, but honestly asked myself "would I be getting my money's worth?" Well it arrived in two boxes, (one inside the other, bit strange), and was very easy to assemble. I did not even need to read the instructions, but they are included and worth a read. Comes with a black baseplate, a metal guard, extra blades and the batteries and charger and instructions. The batteries were virtually fully charged so you can test it straight away. Twist up the middle to extend the handle for assembly, attach the guard and plate and attach a battery. I was a bit nervous using it the first time, as I have never used nylon blades before. However I was very pleasantly surprised. The first battery last around 30 mins, I let the strimmer cool off and then swapped in the second battery for another round. I only used one nylon blade, but I know that wether it be cord or plastic/nylon blade, it wont tackle oversized growth. But it did a great job of clearing 80% of the front garden with no blade loss. I was very happy with the result. The guard does definately help to keep you away from concrete and walls. I think slow and sure seems to have won out here. Overall i got virtually all the job done on one charge and 1 blade. With 30 extra blades I should be good for a while. Only thing I would recommend is some safety glasses as the strimmer does kick up a bit of grass/debris despite the guard attachments. Additionally i would allow the srimmer to cool down between battery changes. (make some tea!). Overall it is a great little buy and being cordless makes life so much easier, the spare battery is a bonus.
