If you already enjoy the original Catan, Seafarers is an excellent expansion and adds enough new strategy to make the game feel fresh without completely changing what makes Catan fun. The biggest addition is being able to build ships and explore across water to reach new islands. It sounds like a simple change, but it adds another layer of strategy because you now have to decide whether to focus your resources on expanding across land or building shipping routes to reach new areas. The larger maps also make the game feel more adventurous and give you more options when your starting position isn’t ideal. I especially like that Seafarers includes different scenarios rather than just one new way to play. This adds a lot of replay value because you can change the map and objectives from game to game. Once everyone understands regular Catan, the additional rules aren’t difficult to learn, and after a game or two they feel completely natural. The 6th Edition components look great and fit nicely with the current version of Catan. The pieces and tiles are good quality, and there’s plenty included in the box to make the expansion feel worthwhile. One thing buyers should understand is that this is an expansion and requires the Catan base game to play. It isn’t a standalone game. For our family, Seafarers takes an already great board game and makes it even better. There’s more exploration, more strategy, larger maps, and considerably more variety between games without making Catan overly complicated. If your family or game group already enjoys Catan and wants the next step, this is the expansion I’d recommend starting with.

Good game was very fun

Love this addition to Catan. Several ways to change up play. My husband and I play alot. It does say 3-5 players but very possible for 2 players. We've enjoyed playing with 3-5 players too.

Pretty simple expansions compared to others. Nonethlese still tons of fun and it adds more scenario to the game.

Intéressant comme jeu d'expansion. J'airais dû attendre encore une semaine afin de profiter du rabais de 24%. Bref, je suis satisfait de mon achat. Il ne me reste qu'à jouer avec d'autres joueurs de Catan.

Amazing the quality of the game and the packaging. Huge fan. Seafarers is quite a simple addition to the catan. The 5th edition seafarer's was terrible but don't worry you have found the right version. This is the 6th edition and absolutely outstanding in comparison.
