After reading many review I gave it a try. I use it for 2 tanks for 500litre capacity. People even review saying it doesn't work using the method. How will chlorine change hardness of water ? If you want to kill the bacteria/microbes or the fungi that develops in the tank you have to try the chlorine tablets. But to what extent it does I also cannot say. But we felt a difference so we are still using it. If you are worried about salt in water =hardness of water use a ro filter after chlorination. Using this product we are doing cleaning of water tank which cause microbes/bacteria. Hope this helps few of you.
