Harney & Sons Irish Breakfast Assam Tea Loose Tea 16 Ounce

Excellent tasting tea. Irish and Scottish tea have a slight bitter bite to them, so if you don’t care for that then go with an English breakfast instead. Irish tea is pretty strong. The recommended measurement is 1 tsp. For each cup, and steep for 5 minutes. This brew is a little too strong for me. I usually make a 32 oz. pot, so instead of 4 tsp. I use 3.5 tsp, and cut the steep time down to 4 minutes. The great thing about buying loose tea is that in addition to getting the better quality tea than tea bags, you can also adjust the amount of tea you use. I highly recommend this tea, and really any tea that is produced by Harney and Sons. Their teas are top notch, and also they just make tea, no coffee.

This tea is special, fregrant and fresh. Tea should smell when it open it, and the flavor should be floral while it is steeping. This is a sign it is FRESH tea! Yes, it's expensive, but yes, if you drink tea several times a day, it is worth it to be a "good tea". The packaging is o.k. I don't find their self closing to be all that great. We transfer the tea over to a mason style wide mouth jar and keep a tbl scoop in it. The water should be HOT not boiling, and we found for a standard french press it takes two full scoops. Anything less will be weak tea. It holds up well to cream and sugar. One way you know it's a quality tea? The cream should circle around the amber fluid, not just 'milk' it.

Good quality and consistent. Have been drinking for several years and though I have tried other teas, this is the best flavor breakfast tea I have found.
