Will the internal pump start turn on a 240v pump?

Accepted Answer

The master valve/pump start terminals are downstream from the transformer, so the controller will only provide 24VAC for the pump start relay to operate the pump. Question 2

My irrigation control is in the back of my yard.  it is far from my wi-fi router in my house.  would this not work then if the wifi signal is too far?

Accepted Answer

It's really dependent on on the signal strength coming from your router. To verify, take your mobile device to the location of your controller and see if the WiFi signal has at least two bars of strength. If you've already purchased the controller, this can also be done in the Rain Bird App by clicking the WiFi Signal Strength icon in your controller settings. Ideally, the controller should have -30 to -60 Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). If needed, boost signal by adding a wireless router or moving controller and router closer together. Is this 220 volts?

Accepted Answer

Currently, the Rain Bird ARC8 Controller comes with a 120 VAC transformer and six-foot AC power cord, which is standard in North America. Alternatively, the controller can be wired directly into a power supply by removing the power cord. It has an internal transformer that reduces supply voltage from 120 VAC to 24 VAC. As we introduce international models that support a 230V power supply, we will be sure to let you know.

does the unit retain programming after a power failure since there is no backup battery?
