Clarion M608 Marine In-Dash 4-zone SIRIUS/XM-ready Digital Media Receiver with Bluetooth

So far this head unit has done what i've expected. I replaced my Clarion CMD6 head unit in my Mastercraft Ski boat mainly for the bluetooth and XM Satellite option. (You will still need to purchase the SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Tuner w/antenna to use satellite radio.)However this unit is the same size and used the same drill holes as my older CMD6. The wire harness matched my old head unit perfectly. This is a 4 zone unit but technically speaking one of the zones is for a subwoofer.The power output isn't as high as the my older CMD6 but close enough to simply adjust my amps output and still get a clear sounding signal that matched my older unit. Overall I might have purchased another model if I wanted to spend all the time changing my wire harness and remotes. But I am glad and I am satisfied I went with this model.

The unit worked when installed in August, but by December it would no longer power on. It turns out that Amazon is not an authorized dealer, so I had to ship the dead unit to a dealer that I tracked down in AZ for $55 ground shipping UPS. Hopefully the dealer will honor the warranty, which remains to be seen. So far this has been a negative experience - it appears that Clarion product quality is slipping, and they are maintaining an obsolete dealer network with no customer access to factory service centers (if they even exist). Hopefully some other company will enter the marine radio business, or Clarion will fix their quality and service/support deficiencies.

It was an easy plug and play replacement for an old Clarion XMD1 receiver. Bluetooth works well. The sound settings could be a bit better but overall for a boat, it's fine.

Installed in 2006 Sea Ray Sundeck 240. Love that you just slide out your XMD3 Clarion and slide this one in. No rewiring (aside from remotes), just plug the other harness directly into this.The mounting holes are different but that's not an issue as you just drive the included screws through the screw holes on the radio.Sounds much better than my old XMD3. Bluetooth is perfect and you can control the volume from your phone without an app. I would like to get the new remotes eventually though.

Sound is excellent and range for Bluetooth is good. Love that it makes a single den cut out into a double den without cutting.

Great product from clarion

I got the receiver last April. I just had time to install today. The customer support told me this was a direct replacement for the CMD8 I had. The unit will not turn on. The wiring was exact plug and play , I was told. $450 and it’s a piece of junk. Now I can’t return it it because it’s been so long. Not happy!

Easy installation. Exact match size wise of original earlier model. Case looks more weather proof than earlier model. Looking forward to enjoying for a long time.
