Great laser
Oh my goodness. Let me tell you how much fun this is. I bought it so I could make Christmas gifts and I am having the time of my life. At first I was frustrated with trying to figure out how to use it, but after playing with it I finally got it figured out. The ease of use of this laser is something you can’t beat, I think if I had went with another one, I would have been lost. The functionality of it, too notch. If you are thinking of getting a laser definitely do it. I started using lightburn (which has a membership price but a 30 day trial) because its system was easy to use for me, and I have made so much stuff so far. This laser is great. It is smaller, but perfect for me. So happy with this purchase.

It's worth the money to get started engraving, simple to setup and use
This is fun little machine! Easy to put together, frame is all set you just need to mount the laser. I was up and running in a couple minutes. Even getting a software program to run the laser was pretty easy too, I use Ubuntu and use LaserGRBL to run the Acmer and it was quick to get started engraving.

Good for a beginner
Great startup laser machine. Had to do some trial and error before getting the hang of it, but turned out to be a great first Laser Engraver.

Buena máquina de inicio
Buena máquina básica para hacer grabados y trabajos que no requieran mucho detalle fino

Fine Engraver
This Engraver is good but not the best as it is has only 6mW laser. This is for general light engraving.

Very Good Starter Machine!
This is my first use, out of the box! I make keychains, earrings and small crafts for my business and this size is perfect for me. There will be fumes/smoke from burning materials so please use in a place with good ventilation. Overall set up was so easy and straight forward and it comes with some test material. The machine itself is light and does not take up too much space. Good value for money and the functionality and quality of the engraving/Cutting of this materials is very good. This was my first set of keychains and they're not too bad i think the scorches are user error and not the machine. I am still learning the software and setting to get cleaner cuts.

Good machine for beginne
Good machine for beginners Review: I have used it a few times now and so far I like it. Setup took a little time, but it was not too hard if you follow the instructions. I am still new to laser engraving, so I wanted something simple to start with, and this one has been good for that. The engraving result looks pretty nice and the lines come out clear. I use it for small projects and it does what I need. So far it has been running well and I have not had any big problems with it. Overall, I think this is a good starter machine and worth buying if you are just getting into laser engraving.

Make sure all screws are in the box
Until I can use the machine and see how well it works I'll leave a 1 star. I ordered my machine , It came fast and I open it and it's missing the screw to hold the laser on the cradle. Now I'm on a quest to find the right size screw to use a $120 machine. fun !!!!

Newbie here!
Still taking me a little bit to get use to, not necessarily the machine but the software for it. It took me a bit to get it set up even with the instructions (my drive was listed wrong) and then figuring out how the measurement works (simple fix once you learn the framing button). Now that everything is working though I love this little thing. The machine itself is quite small 5x5, so no big projects (which is fine) but one thing I will say if you’re just starting out, is make sure somehow you have an exhaust system. The machine gets very hot (as does the wood) and while you might not see it, there are definitely fumes and everything going up around you that you should be protected from. Would be nice to see a cheap exhaust system added but I know they can get expensive too.

Very user friendly
This Laser Engraving Machine S1 is a great little tool for anyone wanting to get into laser engraving. It’s portable and pretty powerful with 2.5W (2500mW) output, and it’s impressively a bit slower than I expected, but it's not too bad. It’s definitely on the smaller side, but that actually worked out perfectly for what I needed. The machine is really easy to use, even if you’re a beginner, and the engravings come out super clear and sharp. If you’re starting out with laser engraving and want something reliable without being too bulky, this is a good pick.

Works well, limitations are what you'd expect
This is a nice, small laser cutter that works well as long as you understand its limitations. The area it can cut is about 130mm x 130mm, so it can't cut anything too large. Having said that, it can go edge-to-edge in that 130mm (the actual unit is a little larger than that). Its inputs are very simple. There's a power button, a USB-C port and a barrel jack for power. When you plug it into your computer, it's recognized as a USB serial device. In the manual, there are recommendations for a few pieces of software to use with it (the manufacturer doesn't offer any software). One is a Windows program that's free, the other is available on Windows, Mac and Linux, but is paid (with a 30 day free trial). The paid software isn't cheap ($99 US), so if you're on a Mac you should be aware that you will have to spend some additional dollars to make use of this unit. Set up is pretty straightforward. The primary mechanism comes pre-assembled, and you just have to attach the included laser. There's a little 2mm tall block that you set the laser head on to "calibrate" it, and then there's a thumb screw that holds it in place. The thumb screw had come detached in shipping on my unit, so I had to figure out where it went. It wasn't too difficult, but I included a picture in case anyone else has the same problem, since the ones in the manual aren't very illustrative. There's nothing to really ensure that whatever you're engraving is perfectly positioned with this unit, so you want to consider adding some kind of straight edge under the legs for that purpose. You can set the "home" position of the head in the LightBurn software to one of nine positions, and there's even a "test" that'll run the laser head without the laser on so you can make sure it's going to follow a path that lines up with whatever you're burning/cutting. There's not much in the way of safety equipment with this particular laser cutter. Most include some kind of cover that you close so that the laser isn't exposed. In this one, there's a tiny plastic over over the laser and they give you a set of funky sunglasses to protect your eyes. The downside to this method, of course, is that you can only protect one set of eyes at a time. There's no ventilation equipment included at all, so if you're burning something that gives off a lot of smoke you'll want to be near a window or vent - especially if the smoke is toxic. Once you get it up and running, the laser does a nice job of actually burning/cutting. You do have to play a bit with the speed and laser power settings, but once you get it tuned, it works well. It's just not as advanced as units that cost 5 - 10x as much (as you'd likely expect). As a beginner laser cutter/engraver, this is a decent place to start. It's well-built and works well. It doesn't come with a lot of support, and the instructions are so-so at best, but it's easy enough to use that it's not too much of a concern.

I’ve always wanted a laser engraver….
I’ve always wanted to try a laser engraver and finally had the opportunity. This is a great compact beginners laser engraving machine. Setting it up is quick and easy, it’s lightweight making it easy to move around. I tried it on wood and I’m impressed with how well it’s done. It’s by no means fair to compare it to larger more expensive laser engravers but this is great for a beginner or someone that wants to try it out first without forking out a lot of cash. Overall I like this machine, great for lite duty, beginners or entry level hobbyists.
