Replacement Key Fob Case Shell Fit for BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, X5, X6, Z4 Keyless Entry Remote Car Key Fob Cover Casing with Uncut Blade Blank

I'm pleasantly surprised so far. I wasn't expecting a perfect match, but from what I gather so far it's pretty close. The key fob shell itself is identical in proportions and the material and color seem to be an exact match. I had replaced the battery (and messed up the old fob in the process, hence the replacement) and the new battery and PCB insert fit perfectly in the fob. It has a nice, solid click when pressed together and sealed. FYI, the fob shell arrives unassembled, so no worries for pulling it apart. Just insert the guts and click together. I was also pleased that the fob comes with a BMW sticker applied (it's covered by black tape, you just have to remove) and it seems like a close match. That saves the $10 I had set aside to order a replacement badge from FCP Euro. I can't tell if the texture of the logo is the same, but at this point I'm not overly concerned and it's good enough for me. The only difference I've noticed is with my old key insert itself, which has the slightest gap when inserted in the fob. I don't think you can even see it in the photos, and it doesn't bother me - and I'm particular. If you see the photos of the two keys side by side, you may be able to gauge the slight difference in dimensions. I'm personally not using the key blank, as I have the original key and just need a new shell, so no comments on that. Net result, I'm happy with the purchase and relieved that I only had to to spend $20 (battery + key fob shell) versus the $240 odd bucks the stealership quoted me. UPDATE 8/9/20: The gap is no longer an issue, I reinserted the key and it's a tight fit. I have now noticed the shapes and text are a little off, but just a little. Also, the grey / silver portions of the key have a slightly different color and the replacement key is a little more matte in finish. I'm still very happy overall and the key fob works perfectly.

I replaced the rechargeable battery in my fob, and this looks just like the factory fob, it's not flimsy, rattly or anything . I purchased a genuine BMW emblem to place in the middle, and now one can't really tell it's aftermarket at all. Just take your time placing the emblem , making sure it's leveled, once attached it'd be difficult to reposition.

I bought this to replace the case I had for my 2008 BMW 335i but the bottom portion of it is not the same as the bottom portion of my OEM key fob case, the battery placement is different and you you also can’t replace the battery as easy as you can with OEM because on the OEM one you can pop off a small square and just insert a new one but to replace your battery for this case you have to open the whole thing.

The BMW emblem rubs off easily compared to the original key however, that doesn't matter much when you can save yourself money. I would say take your time when cutting off the original key because if it breaks and you don't have a spare like me, I would have had to paid for a tow to the shop and a new key and programming which would have been an expensive mess up. I took my time cutting and testing the fob and it turned out great. I now can easily replace the battery when need be however soldering is required for replacing the battery.

This key fob shell fits exactly like the OEM key fob that came with my E60 BMW (2008 530i). I needed to cut open my original fob to replace the rechargeable battery that would no longer hold a charge. The cut open fob was still usable but rough to handle due to the cutting. I put the internal circuit board into this shell, snapped it shut, and it worked perfectly for remote function as well as in the key slot. My original cut metal key also fit perfectly. I'm very happy with this product.

It jams quite often when taking the key out of the ignition slot. The buttons press slightly against the board on the inside and send false inputs so sometimes when I press the unlock, lock gets pressed immediately after and it locks the car.

Great key fob shell. After the battery change, I snapped the shells together. It’s solid. Be advised that the shell is a tiny bit bigger than the OEM key fob, but I can attest that it does not prevent smooth insertion and extraction from ignition location. A great purchase, and it beats gluing the original shell pieces together (you never know if you have to open the shell again for battery change or the glued together shells would fall apart with valet handling).

Reliable and looks like the original one, I highly recommend
