Works mostly how you would expect
It's essentially like any other pizza stone that's ever been made. They've been around for at least 20yrs.But I was surprised to learn the stone will not heat evenly placed directly on the grill. You have to place your deflector plates directly on the grill, then rig some 1"-2" spacers, then place the stone on the spacers. The directions call for rolling small pieces of aluminum foil into evenly sized balls to use as the spacers. I would suggest 1" steel drain plugs from your local hardware store for a more permanent solution. In my opinion, if you have to engineer a new product to work correctly, they probably should include the spacers with the stone. Also, you will be cooking at very high temps with this stone for best results, typically in the 550°-600° range. If you need to take a peek, dont forget to "burp" it a couple of times and use your heat gloves. You will lose a ton of heat when doing this. Now I keep a flashlight and just look down thru the exhaust on top. Obviously, this can melt half your face off, so dont get too close. But you dont lose any heat doing it this way.

Big Joe big pizzas.
Even if you don’t want to make a pizza that big, it’s great having lots of pizza real estate in the Big Joe.After lighting a lot of charcoal right in the middle, I installed my rack with the heat deflectors, then the grill grates up high and placed the pizza stone on the grates.Cranked it open to afterburner until it got to 400 and then eased it on up to 500.(I actually own the DoJoe but after trying it with and without the DoJoe, I like the above setup best.)You probably will need a wooden pizza peel with sprinkled corn meal so it can slide off onto the stone, and a metal peel for scooping it back up when it is cooked.

Held up to the hype!
This stone worked perfectly on our Kamado Joe for making pizzas. We had previously used a stone rated for ovens that cracked. If you’re looking to grill pizza at the high temps in a ceramic grill, this stone is up for the task.

Seems awesome but it is huge!!
I got this to use in my oven but it doesn't fit in my oven, lol. Hopefully someday I can afford the 3k grill it was made to use with. Measure your oven depth before you buy one.....

Very good quality pizza stone
This is a good quality pizza stone - I am extra pleased since I bought it at a discount for $39. So big thumbs up :)The nice look of it mostly goes away after first use though, which should be fine as long as you care only about function.

I expected more From a Kamado Joe product.
I will start this by saying that I am a loyal Kamado Joe user. Love the Joe and all the other accessories I have purchased for it. However that can’t be said about this product. It came with a small crack along the grain, but it’s a natural product so that can happen. Have used it twice. With it being a thin pine you will need to utilize both sides during your cook. It will cup rather quickly if you leave it on the hot stone too long while you are turning your pizza, or holding it off the stone while you are trying to get the cheese just right. Personally my next one will be metal.

Solid
This was a Christmas present for my father-in-law. Pretty heavy-duty, solid Stone. He was and still is very happy with it. When it arrived the package was beaten up pretty badly but somehow the stone inside had survived.
