I am generally happy with this UPS. I have owned 6 CyberPower UPS over the years and this is the first rack mounted one I purchased. And it's the firs one that failed on me other than battery replacement. I use this UPS to power a NAS and some network gear. The UPS failed 3 months after I purchased it. There was a about a one second power blip and the UPS did not supply power to any of the devices plugged into it. So my NAS went down hard. Fortunately, there was not any long term impacts to the NAS from the failure. The three year warranty return process was ok. My main complaint is CyberPower did not send me a replacement, but instead had me send the device back first before sending me a replacement. I didn't have the original packaging, so I had to purchase a box and bubble wrap at my expense. Fortunately, I had another UPS I could use in its place until the replacement arrived. The replacement did arrive pretty quickly after I sent the old one back. I understand this is probably pretty common for warranty coverage on some things, but considering how quickly the failure occurred, I was hoping for some grace in this case. Not sure if I will buy another CyberPower UPS in the future.

I can have enough juice in the bank to allow 15 minutes for a safe shutdown of processes when under normal loads using UNRAID. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR): The AVR feature helps stabilize minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power, which is great for protecting my equipment. Cons: Runtime: The runtime is relatively short, around 3.1 minutes at full load and 10.2 minutes at half load. It's enough to safely shut down my devices but not to keep them running for an extended period during a power outage. At the end of the day, it isn't a generator, it is a UPS. Weight: The unit is a bit heavy, weighing around 27 pounds (12 kilograms). This makes it a bit cumbersome to move around if needed. I suggest you put it on the bottom of your rack as it can allow for a stable mount that isn't top heavy. Initial Setup: The initial setup can be a bit tricky, especially if you're not familiar with installing UPS systems. Properly connecting all the devices and ensuring everything is working correctly took some time for me when it came to UNRAID. Luckily there are enough people who have answers to the questions I had, and it allowed me to setup everything in a day. Overall, the CyberPower CP1500PFCRM2U is a reliable UPS system that provides excellent power protection and multiple features for home office use. Just keep in mind the short runtime at high loads and the weight if you plan to move it around frequently.

The performance is solid, and they integrate well into rack setups. That said, I’ve noticed they don’t seem to last as long as they used to. It’s hard to fully judge lifespan because my installs are in varying environments, but there does appear to be a trend toward shorter service life compared to earlier models.
