Video Doorbell C31, 2K FHD, Battery or Wired, No Subscription

The eufy Video Doorbell was surprisingly easy to install. I had it up and running in under 15 minutes, and the 2K image quality is sharp both day and night. Two-way audio works well, and I like that there’s no monthly fee for local storage. The app is user-friendly and gives quick access to live view and past recordings. On the downside, motion detection can be a bit too sensitive – I got alerts for every passing car and stray cat until I adjusted the zones and sensitivity. Also, the chime volume could be louder for larger homes. Overall, it’s a solid, budget-friendly alternative to subscription-based doorbells, especially if you value privacy and no hidden fees.

I would set this useless doorbell on fire if i could. This doorbell came with good reviews and i did not want to pay a subscription. I only needed the basics so i was fine with whatever they offered. However ever since i have used this, it has irked me to no end. It is hardwired and we have good internet connection. But every time i needed to access the doorbell, it will say that it’s down or has no signal. Only thing consistent about this how its consistenly useless: does not always register the doorbell press (HARDWIRED BY THE WAY), frequently misses human detection, has no preview with notifications so you cant see anything until you open the app. And guess what, it takes more than 10seconds to see the live view - if it lets you!!! Otherwise it will decide to be useless right in the middle of an important event. You need to see previous events? It’s also 50-50 if it will have it in the app. You could have had many detections in the morning but you review it and it comes up empty. Sometimes it takes a while to update. Sometimes it just…. Doesnt have anything. Responding to a visitor that arrived: good luck getting ahold of them cause the call function doesnt work!!! The feed cuts out and fails, your call never goes through. You want to watch the live feed? It will let you for five seconds then proceed to cut out. Dont even get me started on notifications - absolutely terrible at sending timely notifications. Somebody could be coming up the steps - which should already have been detected - and notification will only show up seconds after they press the doorbell. And the series of event notifications is poor. Somebody could be ringing the doorbell, then staying around for a bit. The next notifications will just give you a generic notif status - which doesnt help given the notif messaging should sound urgent. The important notif gets buried under the generic alerts. It doesnt help that theres no preview to tell what exactly the detection was for. You will find reviews and complaints of people having the same issue spanning years. They can say all they want about a bad internet connection. But most of these issues arent caused by bad internet. And how can that even be the issue when all devices connected to the internet are working just fine. It sounds like bad hardware too. I have a wyze doorbell for my family on the free tier and its never given me any issues. That thing is so timely and informative and has never broken down or given me a headache. Has always been reliable to use. I wanted to switch to a better quality camera but i rly messed up choosing eufy . i will be searching for a new doorbell or just going back to wyze.

Very nice image and sound quality. Some problem with connecting to in house doorbell chime. Still working on that. Compared to eufy E340 it is sufficient video capture. E340's Downward facing camera is overkill. Very good motion detection/capture. Night vision is good.

Works great but will not connect to my home station. Must work with an micro sd card.

Field of view is awesome. Fair motion detection.

The video quality is good and setup was fairly easy, but the alerts have been inconsistent. A few deliveries were completely missed, which is frustrating since that’s one of the main reasons I bought a video doorbell. Battery life has also been shorter than I expected, so I find myself charging it more often than I’d like. It has some nice features, but the missed notifications and battery life keep it from being something I can fully rely on.

This camera works flawless. We use it wired, and have the doorbell of our home still ding. Plus it alerts my phone. The directions are a little complicated to get the settings exactly correct. The connectivity issues were fixed when I finally got the QR code the correct distance. Would recommend since there is no subscription fee.

My grandson easily installed the system and it works well!

Works great, sometimes the motion detection is inconsistent. I have an alert zone setup, only half the screen is within the motion detection zone so the other half (where the street is) doesn't trigger motion detection. Occasionally though I'll get an alert even though nothing in my alert zone was moving but a car passed by in the half that shouldn't be triggering

The hardware is great, the software is flaky. I can't recommend the product at this time. If the software improves, I'll revise the review.

Do not buy is my recommendation if you are looking to set “accurate” activity zones. Picks up motions that are 15 to 20 feet OUTSIDE the motion zone that I set. I tried all the Eufy troubleshooting ideas to no avail. Even after escalating through Eufy emails, they keep asking for the same information over again, information I have already provided to another representative.
