great PTZ upgrade for my webcam needs
i needed a cam that could offer PTZ adjustment to replace my "idiot cam" that I had previously. This has great image quality, and needs no setup to get running. works great.

Fun and useful ... once you figure out how it works
Overall, this is a really simple device. It comes with a large remote that has lots of buttons on it that aren't necessary, but it's probably cheaper than a custom device. There's no manual in the box, although there's one on their website but it's hard to find. It's not very informative anyway.I have a new (2018) MacMini running MacOS and I plugged the USB into a Thunderbolt adapter on the back and ... it does NOT work. However, I have a docking station that has 2x USB2 plugs and 2x USB3 plugs. So I removed the adapter from the back and plugged the camera cable into the docking station and viola! It works fine. Both USB2 and USB3, and it's a little surprising there's no performance difference I can notice. I did not check the audio since I have a separate rig for audio, but I don't see an additional audio device available anyway. Maybe it's in Windows. The remote supports most features on it, but some buttons do nothing. In particular, there's a Menu button that does nothing even though two pages of the manual are dedicated to showing the menu's structure. But I can pan, tilt, zoom, invert, mirror, freeze the video, and adjust brightness level, and that seems to be the extent of things, which is perfectly adequate. I mainly use it with Zoom, and it has tons of ways to adjust the picture quality, so I'm not sure what else I'd need.I did notice that as I zoomed in and out on my face, the coloration changed, although that could be my TV (so-called "smart TVs" are pretty dumb when it comes to maintaining consistent skin tones from what i've found). I have some lights that can be adjusted for warmer or cooler whites, as well as brightness, so I can use them to compensate, but I'm not sure how it looks on the other end.I asked about mounting it on the top of a monitor, and was told to buy a different camera, which isn't a helpful answer and there's no way to reply. If you search Amazon for a "flat panel top shelf mount" you'll find a variety of things that will work. The camera itself is only about a pound, so most of what I found would work. I got a "WALI TV Top Shelf 12 Inch Flat Panel Mount" that's made of metal and it has a piece of rubbery shelf liner to keep things from slipping around. I actually have a 55" TV that I use as my computer monitor (its' equivalent to 4 x 27" HD monitors) and this mount works perfectly to hold this camera. As an aside, this is the cheapest PTZ camera I've seen anywhere. There's one for $199 that's a little smaller, but I can't really tell from the specs if it's any better. And I'm not sure the ones that cost several hundred dollars are any better either just based on their specs. For indoor use, I think this device is ideal. It can be mounted upright or upside down, it comes with a remote (which none of the others have), and the picture quality is great.Due to the lack of useful documentation, you really need to play with it to figure it out. I wish the built-in menu worked. If you have a Mac with only a Thunderbolt port, it seems to work with some adapters / docks and not others. So I score it a 4 out of 5 since what's here is great, but there's room for improvement.UPDATE: knocked off two stars. I was in a class hosted on Zoom for 3-1/2 days and every day this thing did something strange. It's very inconsistent. It will occasionally lock-up while trying to pan or tilt, and I have to reset it. The colors also change a lot throughout the day. During daylight hours with my shades pulled and two lights on my desk, my face looked very bluish unless I made the lights very orangish. After the sun went down, the bluish tint went away. There's no way to adjust coloration at all. As you zoom in and out, facial colors change radically. One day the camera worked in Zoom with the HD checkbox checked, the next it was just black. I had to uncheck the HD box. The next day it worked. The next day it didn't work at all -- meaning I could see myself in the Zoom video settings page, but not on Zoom, no matter what settings I tried. I reset the device 3 times and it didn't fix anything. I had to set up my cheap Logitech camera again for the last day. I have't seen a device that acts this randomly on a day-to-day basis.UPDATE: It seems that some of the issues I had with this camera go away if I close the Zoom app after I'm done with a call. Maybe they're memory issues, maybe it just can't deal with some things. But the HD always works when I open the Zoom app fresh. I don't mind closing the app when I'm done, so I bumped up to 4-stars. Overall, this seems like an excellent buy at the price. The HD is very sharp and I like having the remote control to adjust things.

Disappointing
This camera was a great idea and a good price. But the tilt feature didn’t work right out if the box. The camera and the remote all had an insubstantial feel. There was no manual and the doc was hard to find online so all the buttons on the remote had to be guessed at. This could work but I’m not sure how long it would work.

It’s bad.
Don’t bother. White balance is awful. Color adjust is awful. Presets work... occasionally. I didn’t receive the remote that is pictured and explained in the user’s manual. Image quality suffers at anything beyond wide angle. Left pan turns the camera right, right button pans left. Save yourself the hassle. Don’t order it.

Fish eye effect makes in home use strange and quality is low
The picture quality is relatively low, making Personal zoom use tough (when you close on a head shot). Additionally, the fish eye effect, which I know would help for a conference room, makes it look strange at home.Pan tilt and zoom all work very nicely with the remote.

This is the webcam you need if you are a teacher stuck teaching from home!
Tilt and pan a little choppy, but for that price and image quality, it can't be beat!!
