We purchased this for the rooms on the 2nd floor. It was ordered and received within 10 days. I was concerned about whether or not it would actually cool off the room or rooms I needed it to being that it is the smaller of the units? My next concern was the remote and whether if I lost it would the unit still work? So I can say this cools of the 2 rooms on top floor very well. They are separated by a doorway with no door. I can also say that this unit works just fine without a remote so no concern there. This unit has been very easy to install. It comes with everything you need and you can move it easily through out the house. I do like the fan function as well, and yes it does make noise but I did not find it overwhelming or too loud. The remote does not come with batteries so make sure you have 2 aaa on hand. I did like the overall design of the unit and how you can move the direction of air. You can easily take the filter off and clean it. We didn't even need to tape anything to the windows it fit really nice. If you are looking at several different units and aren't sure on the one to buy, like I was. I would just say that this is a great unit. It really cools down the 2 rooms very well. I too was struggling to decide and I am very satisfied with my purchase, the cost was ok, and how it works is great. I do hope this helps. And good luck.

This is one year later. It's still the coldest AC in the house. Would buy again. I just put it up on a stand and ran the tube out the window along with the exhaust tube so you don't have to collect water and empty it because That's what I did first and I would have to empty the water like twice a day. But now it just runs straight out the window. Works great! Burrrr

Lots to say. First, this doesn’t cool the room any better than my 5,000btu did. Secondly, the wire to plug into the outlet, and the hose for the window are both wayyyyy too short. If you want to keep it in the corner, and cool just the corner…then it’ll work great. I literally couldn’t believe how short the wire was. Portable how? To move 2 inches? The hose is also way too short, and shorter than others I have had in the past. The window kit doesn’t fit correctly. Speaking of hose, the top part of mine came visibly cut; so either this was returned and the prior person cut it…or it’s how it was made. The end of the hose did not fit securely into the part that goes on the back of the ac. Everytime I try to move it, it pops out. The hose gets HOT…and I’m told from asking other users, it’s a common issue, and it’s bc of the material used for the hose. It is LOUD on the high level. It is loudish on the low level, but sounds like a standard window unit ac. The high level is LOUD thou. If you’re in front of it, it’s nice and cool. It hasn’t even been the hottest it’s going to be yet and this seems mediocre. It doesn’t seem worth the price. I had hoped an 8,000 btu portable unit would work better than a 5,000 btu window unit…but doesn’t seem to be the case. Disappointed. Will update if necessary. **UPDATE** I took a star off. After the hassle I went thru with it, I took it out of the window and put my 5 year old 5,000 btu back in…and it cooled the room better. I had the 8000btu portable ac, and TWO FANS…and the room was 82 degrees. I put the 5000 Btu window unit in and it dropped 2 degrees in an hour. Lowkey feel super annoyed like this is unacceptable.

Check out the pictures below. The unit is operational day one no issues. It is blowing out cool air. It’s not super cold, but it is nice and cool. The buttons on the top are adequate. Do not throw away the set screw in a little miscellaneous bag inside the bag that is holding the hose. You will need that later. Look at the pictures below. The instructions do not even mention it. My window is only 22.5 inches wide so I had to cut both pieces and drill another hole for the set screw. You should be able to easily cut with a simple hacksaw if that’s all you have. The hole will drill is easy as well., Very easy to do the plastic is of good quality. Measure twice cut once! You will have a fit with the tape that they put on the corners of the unit when you get it out of the box. Be warned you will be there for longer than you like removing it. Make sure that when you are screwing in the exhaust hose, you screw it in deep inside the fittings or it will pop loose. The unit has been running now for 45 minutes. It is still nice and cool. Not super cold. This unit being that is only 8000 BTU is going to be good for a small space. Especially if you’re somewhere that gets really hot. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the directions could have been better. I have not tried the remote control.

After reading so many review, I wasn't sure about this product, but so far so good, very easy to set up, I don't find it noisy at all, cooled down my son room right away and he has a lot of gaming equipment in his room which makes it very hot, he has set it a 60 every night and its very cold in his room, I have even found it has cooled down my hall way, price was great , I saw everyone write about the plastic piece for the window that hold the hose I just cut my with a knife not a big deal and there is a little spacing issues but an easy fix, I would definitely recommend out to others

Update (6/2026): The AC still works, but I will say it's underwhelming as an AC, which is why my ratings went down. The room still ends up being hotter than any other room in the house with an AC. I'm planning on buying a misting fan to hopefully help cool the room down even further. It's not even a big room to cool down, only half the size of a bedroom. If you're not in the AC's fan path, you will not feel cool, which I'm thankful I have it placed near my bed, or else I end up drenched in sweat if I don't sleep with the AC on. I feel like it blows more air than cool air. One small downside I forgot to mention was because of the limited space in here, I had to prop it on a drawer. And it moves around slightly because of the motor turning on and off, so sometimes I have to push it back. Would I buy this again? Noooo. I'd try to look elsewhere. The settings that I used are 75 degress on a low fan. Previous 5 star review (4/2025): I went ahead and bought this as I was deciding on a portable air conditioner or a swamp cooler since those were my only options to cool my very hot room. I took my chance and coughed up more money for this portable air conditioner. The unit was packaged nicely. It came with a slight bend on the outside of the box, but nothing was damaged on the inside. It takes up around 3 feet of space for me since the tube to the outside isn't flexible and I had to position it awkwardly in my limited space. There are buttons you can press on the unit to change the settings but sometimes they work, other times not, so try not to loose your controller. I appreciate that it has a low or high setting for the fans. In terms of noisiness, I would say it's okay. The noise level doesn't bother me when I sleep or do anything in the room. So far, in the week that I've had it, it has cooled very nicely in what was a very hot room. I have not used the dehumidifier option, nor will I plan to as it's very dry in AZ. The only problem that I may encounter would be removing the filter since it's in the back and removing the water that may accumulate(?) I honestly don't know how that works but I will update this review as time goes on. Small edit: I've had no issues with water accumulation. The AC comes with a small plug to drain the water. TLDR: It's not really worth it, it cools half the time. It's okay so far, the noise is acceptable, and try not to loose the controller.

This air conditioner was easy to set up and works great! But, what is most impressive is the customer service. After summer, we stored this appliance in its original box in the garage. The next summer (2026), we brought it back out, and discovered we had lost the plastic piece that connects the hose to the machine. We contacted the online number that was on the Amazon site. They said that they no longer have the part in the U.S., but would forward our info to China. To make a long story short, the company shipped our missing part without any cost for the part or shipping!! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

I bought this Euhomy portable AC, and after sitting dormant for just one season, it’s already failing. The intake/evaporator coils are completely frosting up from the bottom up. While the top air intake is easy enough to clean, the bottom intake is nearly impossible to access without major disassembly. While the airflow is still technically strong, the air is barely cool anymore—it completely lost that icy performance it had when it was new. I may also be having a refrigerant leak and am talking with warranty about it. Beyond the mechanical failure, there are a couple of major design flaws. The water drainage system is incredibly frustrating to manage (even though I shouldn’t have to do anything based on the product description) , and the AC power cord is too short, severely limiting where you can actually plug it in without risking an extension cord. It’s also runs decently loud. Definitely expected more than a single season of use for the price. I cannot recommend it.
