Can you provide any evidence of its upf 50+ rating, do you have any tests to back this up? the material on top is very thin!

I have no scientific evidence good or bad! In practice it seems to work well. I am at risk from too much sun (skin damage risk) so I like the protection offered to the head and the face and neck. I also use caps but I'd rate this as better than the caps because of the wide area it covers. I'd definitely say, Get One!

Is this hat suitable for swimming?

I guess you could swim in it. It would get absolutely saturated but would dry out. I feel like I'm being taken for a ride by such a silly question but whatever ...

Will this hat fit a child of 9 years old?

Possibly. I’m an adult but have a small head and there is a drawstring inside so you can adjust the size.

Does this have proper UPF protection from the sun?
