Outstanding Espresso – Rich, Smooth, and Consistently Excellent
I’ve been using Lavazza Espresso Whole Bean Coffee (Medium Roast, 100% Arabica) for a while now, and it never disappoints. The aroma is incredible as soon as you open the bag—fresh, rich, and inviting. The flavor is perfectly balanced: smooth, slightly sweet, and full-bodied without any bitterness. It produces a beautiful crema every time and works wonderfully in my espresso machine, as well as for cappuccinos and lattes. The medium roast is just right—not too dark, not too light—making it versatile for daily use. The large 2.2 lb bag is also great value and stays fresh when properly stored. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality espresso bean with authentic Italian flavor, this is an excellent choice. Highly recommended for both casual drinkers and serious coffee lovers!

Cafe-Grade Beans, Home-Brew Swagger
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cafe-Grade Beans, Home-Brew Swagger Traditionally Balanced Espresso Whole Bean Review The medium-roast whole beans from Lavazza deliver that authentic café espresso backbone, mastered decades before third-wave trends turned coffee into interpretive performance art. This 2.2 lb bag of 100% Arabica beans produces a cup that’s smooth, fragrant, and perfectly structured— enough body for real espresso depth, enough balance for everyday sipping sanity. The flavor lands in that classic Italian sweet spot: warm cocoa whispers, gentle nut tones, and a mellow brightness that never screams acidity or burnt roast manifesto. Grinding these beans is a pleasure too— consistent size, no oily residue overload, and no grinder clogs staging a protest. I’ve used them in espresso and drip brewers, and each time the result was creamy, aromatic, and very satisfying, especially when I want a “grown-up coffee moment” without sugar-driven theatrics. ☕ Best for: Home espresso shots with café credibility Lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, and milk-based masterpieces Daily brewing rituals that need balance over bitterness Coffee minimalists who respect tradition 👍 Pros: ✔ True medium-roast espresso flavor ✔ 100% Arabica, wild aroma profile ✔ Consistent, grinder-friendly beans ✔ Creamy espresso extraction ✔ Great for black or milk drinks ✔ Bulk 2.2 lb size is value-smart ⚠ Cons / Tips: • Medium roast = balanced bold, not charcoal-lava dark— for ultra-dark diehards, choose darker roasts. • Espresso beans love freshness— store in an airtight container after opening for peak aroma longevity. • Don’t grind all at once— keep beans whole until needed (espresso tastes better when it has a little mystery left). Bottom line: If you want a trusted, traditional espresso bean that brings café-level flavor to your home without bitterness drama, these beans are a 5-star pantry staple. Smooth, dependable, timeless. Would reorder without hesitation! 😎☕🫘👏✅

Great coffee at very reasonable price
Exceptional value and great tasting coffee. I enjoy this both as an espresso and drip coffee. Lots of crema when brewed as espresso with a very smooth, creamy mouth feel and chocolate notes on the palate. Never harsh or bitter, this is one of my favorite blends. There are other, far more expensive, so called specialty coffees that use "exotic" beans and they are far less enjoyable. You don't have to spend more money to get great tasting coffee.

Read comments before purchase.
I purchased this with the thought that it would be robust and strong. Anyone considering to try this item, I strongly suggest reading the comments first before committing. Having now reviewed the comments, I agree with most. It is a mild, smooth taste, with no bitterness. But, not even having a robust flavor.(my opinion) My preparation in the future will be with reduced water to bean ratio. Again….this is a smooth, mild coffee with no bitterness…my opinion.

For the people that actually taste their coffee..
This is the only coffee I use, ground fresh for every cup. I work with both Arabica and Robusta beans here, and it completely overturned my long-held skepticism about Robusta. When handled well, it adds structure, depth, and a beautiful crema without overpowering the cup. The profile is anything but flat: smooth and well-rounded on the palate, with a gentle natural fruitiness and a clean finish. The blend shows real balance — body without bitterness, richness without heaviness. Each bean plays a role, creating a layered, cohesive cup rather than a one-note brew. This is thoughtful, well-crafted coffee with real character. It’s a rare example of Robusta being used intentionally and intelligently — not as filler, but as a structural element that elevates the entire cup. In the U.S., I genuinely won’t drink anything else. For those interested in the beans themselves: Arabica contributes aromatics, sweetness, and acidity; Robusta adds body, crema, and strength when properly processed. Other notable varieties include Liberica (bold and aromatic), Excelsa (bright and fruity), Typica (clean and classic), and Bourbon (balanced and sweet). Great coffee is about understanding how beans work together — and this blend gets it right.

Best everyday espresso beans I’ve had in years!
Just got my bag of Lavazza Espresso Whole Bean Coffee delivered from Amazon, threw it straight into the grinder, and brewed a pot on my trusty Bunn commercial drip machine. Wow – instant love. Rich, full-bodied, zero bitterness, with this perfect bright sourness (in the good, fruity way) and a super-clear dark chocolate note that lingers. It’s exactly the Italian-style espresso profile I’ve been chasing: bold but not burnt, lively but not acidic in a bad way. Crema is thick even in a drip setup, aroma fills the whole kitchen, and it honestly tastes like I’m sitting at a café in Rome instead of my home office. For the price, this is unbeatable. I’ve spent double on “boutique” roasts that didn’t come close. If you like classic espresso with chocolatey depth and a touch of pleasant brightness, grab it. Already ordered my second bag before the first one is even half gone.100% recommended. Lavazza just became my house bean.Feel free to add anything else (like how fresh the roast date was, oiliness of the beans, etc.) or let me know if you want a shorter version, a 4-star “balanced” one, or one that mentions specific brew settings! Happy caffeinating

Great coffee, fresh!
Well I'm getting annoyed with the quality that's not consistent. Today I got decent beans finally with the nice smooth flavor and body. The beans last month were soury and had a tarteness I don't like. I thought these beans were going to be disappointing because they were older, but actually they taste great and had a nice head/crema. The bag wasn't squashed like it has been in previous orders, I'm not sure if that has something to do with it but I'm guessing it's the quality of beans. The ones months ago were great and I think the ones I recieved today are from that roast. The ones last month were three months old, drinkable, but not the flavor I expected. I do love these when they're the normal flavor. I'm not a fan of citrisy coffees, I like a nice smooth mouth full bodied coffee, berry and chocolate, nutty. And when it's good that's what this is. These beans were fresh and just roasted a month before delivery. I'm quite happy with the quantity and quality. The espresso roast is my favorite, it's a medium roast that grinds in my burr grinder with ease. I've used it for pour-overs and previously espresso in my breville. It makes a great standard cup. I've had an issue with finding beans that taste like coffee without the fruity/winey notes that I'm finding with many coffees. I like my coffee to taste rich and more on the savory side, I add some cane sugar or maple syrup for sweetening. Occasionally I'll make a latte. Sometimes I drink it black. This roast has been consistently good, and I like the 100% Arabica beans. Will most likely order again as it's reliable and my coffee comes out decent even in different brew styles, and the value is really unmatched.
