Megachef Glass and Stainless Steel Electric Tea Kettle, 1.8 L

I was super excited to finally get my kettle. What I hadn't realised was that it appears to have come from America and wasn't fitted with a UK 3 pin plug. Sadly it had to go back via UPS shipping.Looked nice.

I really wasnt sure what to expect with this product because it seemed new and I'd never heard of Mega Chef before. Ive used the tea kettle now a little over a half dozen times and been very happy with it. Boils the water fairly quickly. And looks pretty doing it. I like the blue light letting you know when its on. I wish the opening at the top was just a little bigger to make it easier to get your hand in there to really clean it but apart from that, no other cons with this item. A couple times Ive run out of burners on the stove and had to make a bit of pasta. The product really isnt made for this purpose but I threw in about half a handful of angel hair pasta broken in two into the kettle, added water and turned it on. The pasta was on the edge of being done once the water boiled. I just left it in there for a couple more minutes, dumped it into a strainer and wha-laa....perfect pasta without a pan or a stove. Ive also used it for ramen and even threw in some frozen broccoli. When the water boiled, everything was done. I dont know if this will cut down on the life of the product by doing this but so far it hasnt effected it. Its actually a much quicker way of cooking pasta instead of boiling on the stove. Could be great at camp or in an RV as well where everything needs to be multi functional.

Ever since visiting Europe we've been contemplating buying an electric kettle. Why did we wait so long? This particular unit is extremely nice. I read many reviews and researched many products, ended up choosing this one. It has not disappointed. Nice blue light while heating, it goes off automatically when it heats up to the proper temperature. Heats quickly and looks good doing it. One minor complaint I've read about was that the handle gets warm. I noticed it - but it wasn't excessive in my opinion. Another "complaint" I've read is that there are no temperature controls on it. To me, this is not required, I just want to heat up water for use with s French press or some hot tea. It's perfect! We really like everything about this. You won't be disappointed.

Kettle works great

First let me say I love this kettle. It has a beautiful blue light and is lovely to watch in action. I am however sad, I have had it for 10 months it no longer comes to a boil. I do use it 2-3 times a day at full capacity. Perhaps I have worn it out? Oh well. I will be searching for a new one now. I do feel that I got my moneys worth out of it. I would recommend this product. Just maybe for people who don't use it as often?

I love this product! It is beautifully crafted, with a flip-top that is easy to use and a button on the handle to turn it on, which is far better than any such tea kettle I have received before. It is well thought out, since many problems with my previous kettles were that the start button was broken near the bottom of the pot. They offer an extended warranty, which is very considerate. It pours beautifully, and the glass and stainless steel are first-rate. Overall, I'm thrilled with this tea kettle and hope to use it for many years.
