Incredible Scale for Tracking Body Metrics
I completed a ton of research before investing in this scale, was on the fence between this and another brand. Ultimately I was won over by the appearance/reported ease of use of the app and was able to snag it on sale. Setup was a breeze and the app is LOADED with information (also reports me as 7% lower body fat than my old scale that calculated basic metrics). I’ve recently begun resistance/balance training, so I really appreciate the breakdown of fat/muscle per arms, legs, and trunk as well as A/G ratio (midsection : hips). Measurements like skeletal and skeletal muscle mass are helpful for women entering all stages of perimenopause. Occasionally the app will say it couldn’t capture a reading, but when I navigate off the screen, my measurements are updated from the prior weigh in. There is currently a glitch in the app for calculating body water percentage; when I reached out to support, they responded promptly that a fix is being worked on, and gifted me with two months of premium service. So far, very minimal complaints, nothing that isn’t outweighed by all the pros. Truly looking forward to using this as a tool to monitor my growth!

Inaccurate - Fails to Save Data - Requires Frequent Calibration - Snake Oil
The most costly piece of garbage for which I’ve paid this year. The accuracy of this thing is all over the place. Once I figured out that it likes to randomly add 3.5 pounds (hint, either reset it or step off and on to let it calibrate…and step on later), I then discovered that it likes to decide when or if it will actually transmit data to the app. It has this concept of number of weigh-ins over a week. I never found any correlation to that. I once weighed in 7 consecutive days; it counted two. This could be tied to its inability to retain a weight session. This morning, for example, I stepped on the scale. The phone app walked through its usual progress showing what it was measuring, etc. Coming back to the phone app hours later, the last weight session is from seven days ago. (I’ve weighed in more than once over that time.) With respect to the accuracy of the underlying data, the best I can say is that it shows something. What it shows is wrong (which it’s retained), but it shows something. Think of it like one of those mirrors that makes someone look thinner than they are, or more bulked up than what they are. Actual data that useful isn’t necessary here. Save some money. Since it’s not really providing true data anyway, and even the fictitious data isn’t always retained, a cheap “dumb” scale is likely a better use of money.

Best home scale ever invented to date!
I was wary about all the reviewers and connection issues. I did NOT have any connection issues and I weigh in every morning. Just open the Hume app first before getting on the scale. Weigh in AFTER your 1st morning pee and barefoot and the least amount of clothing as possible, same time every day. Right after 1st morning pee. This scale is so good, you can literally MIN/MAX your body and the scale is accurate enough to detect it. Such as, decreasing sodium and increasing potassium the scale showed the water outside the cells go down and water inside the cells go up. The next day's weigh in reflected this! I screen shot my daily weigh-in of the Hume app pages into an AI chat and we go over the results in detail. The AI explains to me why certain things are the way they are based on what I told it I did the previous day in regards to weight training and every thing I ate and drank. I highly suggest getting this scale. If I was only looking at pure scale numbers of weight, I would be thinking my weight training is NOT working. But because I have this Hume pod, I can literally see the transformation happening internally day by day. I started at over 26% body fat and low muscle mass, I'm now down to 20% body fat and lean muscle mas up from 127 to 131 lbs. But believe it or not, my weight is about the same. That would have been discouraging if I didn't know what Hume was telling me. If you have a big belly but can't really pinch that much fat, you may have mostly visceral fat and this scale detects your visceral fat as well. I highly recommend getting this scale especially if you are into fitness an body sculpting but also even if you are just a couch potato that eats to much junk food and just wants to lose weight. This will help you stay motivated in whatever regimen you choose for your weight loss journey. It's worth every penny. Consider this, you will have your own personal DEXA scan "like" scale at home. It's not an actual DEXA scan but it is very similar and does about the same thing just a different way. I LOVE THIS SCALE!

Important Update! IGNORE Phone Error Message! (Was: Final Update: Turn Off Wi-Fi! It works!)
Was done giving updates, but I found out something VERY IMPORTANT! When standing on the scale and holding the 'paddle', your phone often shows a red 'X', in a circle I think, failed to gather readings. I used to repeatedly get off the scale and try again many times. Don't! IGNORE THIS error message on the phone! Do not get off the scale. Be sure your scale screen shows a STEADY Bluetooth symbol, not blinking. Continue to stand on the scale, very still, holding the paddle. The phone will continue to show nothing happening, but after about 10 seconds or so, the scale will begin to take readings. The dashes will start, then become moving little oval squares, and finally finish with showing your pulse. Once this completes, you will see your phone says, 'Weigh-In Complete' (verbage may not be exact). You can now release the paddle (gently!) and step off the scale. The phone, indeed, has gotten its readings! I've reproduced this twice so far. This was done on an Android phone, I don't know if this works the same with iPhones. ------- Ok, Final Update: Also, must turn on GPS (Location Services). It still behaves hit or miss, but continued trying and it eventually connects Bluetooth. For all the great info it provides, it's worth it (to me anyway) to put up with the connectivity issues. So, 4 stars for the issue. Update: Someone here said turn off Wi-Fi. I did that, and it works! I didn't have to even press the reset button. It not only connected to my phone, it immediately started taking readings while I was still raising the handle up to measurement position. Probably why it failed completing, but 2nd try worked! It completed all body metrics scans fairly quickly! I was very frustrated with the connectivity issues. But turning off Wi-Fi seems to have solved that issue completely! Try doing this and see if it helps you. 5 Stars!!! Previous Review: (1 Star) Very aggravated with this device! It worked a couple times, now it won't Bluetooth connect! I've reset it, made sure it's charged, nothing makes it connect! Useless!

Interesting device
Very interesting product I found it to be reliable easy to connect to my phone. Unfortunately, many of the features are only accessible through a subscription, but you do get a ton of information without that an example the other morning I weighed myself, came up with a warning that said that I was dehydrated and that I should restore my fluids. I was amazed I could figure that out. The pricing is a bit high, but overall, I highly recommend

DO NOT BUY!!! Believe the many bad reviews.
Do yourself a favor: don’t buy this. I hope I can save you from making the same mistake I made when I trusted Hume. I received a beautiful but completely useless product that wouldn’t give me a reading 9 times out of 10. Like many disappointed customers before me (read other reviews), I just couldn’t get anything out of this very expensive product. It did not work. A 200$ scale should work. I sent it back in perfect condition (I mean can’t use something that doesn’t work). Full disclosure: I had thrown the original box away. They say a charger was missing: I never got one. A quick search online told me that we’re talking of a simple USB-A to USB-C cable. Okay! Of the refund they sent me, they kept 86.94$ for themselves and sent me back 97.37$. “Because they can’t resell” this lemon they send everyone, they explained. That’s right, you heard correctly: the hope was to just resell it (which they surely will anyway). I guess that’s the way they try to financially recoup this majestic fail of a product. I can’t imagine how many people will lose money on Hume products that don’t work properly and never do business with them again. Honestly, at this point, I hope Hume gets what it deserves for deceiving people who wanted to give them a chance. I plan to spread the word as much as I can: stay away from this company. There are better (obviously!) and much cheaper options out there. From companies who will respect and appreciate you as a customer. And not just pocket your money in questionable ways. I hope this helps!

Nice Reports, clear display, good measurments but poor fitbit integration
I wanted to return this product after 15 minutes, app was a bit cumbersome, unit was very light, did not have a solid build, although the glass front and display do look very nice. I made it passed the first 15 minutes and got everything working, I do not like the app, but if you invest some time, it does work and there are some nice reports. Besides all the weight, BMI, fat, etc., it also measures your heart rate which is nice. The main reason I returned it was: A) Poor fitbit integration, the setup process is cumbersome and the data gets input to a tab I never used in fitbit NOT were I have been manually inputing my weight for years. B) It is flimsey, when you pull the handle for the measurement the unit lifts off the ground because it is very light, so you have to step on it, not a deal breaker, but annoying. Finally I purchased the Etekcity for 1/4 the price, it does not have the 8 electrodes, only 4 (no handle), BUT, setup was a breeze, app is more intuitive, and fitbit setup and integration is great. For fitbit I just clicked a button within the app that said share with fitbit and data (weight and BMI) started going over to the fitbit app immediately, and to the proper "Today" section, which is where I have been inputing data for years. The cons of the Etekcity are only 4 electrodes vs 8, so it offers less measurements (it won't measure fat in each arm and leg), no heart rate and reports are not as nice. So depending on what you value most the Hume may still be a good option for you.

The coolest thing!
This is the coolest thing ever! It scans your whole body & lets you know what areas need work. I’m an 82 year old woman, but with the information I’ve gotten in my scans, I’ve dropped 10 pounds and built up muscle and strength. I have the energy of a 40 year old and do all my own yardwork, including cutting wood, digging & planting on a 20 acre property, and feel & look great. The Body Pod is not difficult to set up on an Apple phone & also works on my Apple Watch. I recently bought my 86 year old husband a Hume band, and he can connect to the Pod with his Android phone & will be better able to monitor his health as well.

Not great!
The scale loses connection with the app and has to be reset every other day!

Body Pods faults
Took them nearly 3 weeks to.deliver. I'm still finding problems with the app that it connects to. I have solved most problems by using a Facebook group for info. Results are becoming more accurate with time, but it's still not straight forward connecting. 3 months later, I'm getting pretty accurate reading from it. Connection pro lem has sighted itself.

Disappointed is an understatement!
Broken device even after a 2 hour charge. The pod wouldn’t even read my measurements or sync to the app. Bluetooth fails to connect.
