Okuma Longitude Surf Graphite Rods (Large, Black/Blue/Silver)

Purchased the 12' Casting model and paired it with an Okuma Cortez 12CS reel, spooled with 65lb braid. This rod/reel combo is excellent: - Feels extremely well balanced (as balanced as a 12' surf combo could be) with the Cortez 12CS reel; - Rod has excellent sensitivity; - Cork grip wrapping with the foam bumpers feels really comfortable. This is an excellent rod for the money and highly recommended. Just purchased 2 more of these rods, the 9' spinning models - will be paring these up with the OKUMA Cedros CJ-45S spinning reels. *** UPDATE [5/21/2015] *** We now have 6 of these rods: (2) 12' Casting Models (2) 9' Casting Models (2) 9' Spinning Models For the money, these rods can not be beat - we have landed many fish on all 6 of these rods with the majority of the fish being in the 35~40lb range. The construction and quality of components of these rods is almost second to none. Highly recommended!

My father purchased one of these for their annual trip to the south. I borrowed it in December for a quick trip to the gulf, and upon arriving home found it broken in the back of the truck. I purchased this product as a replacement for the one I broke. This is not your $200 fishing rod, but this is a great value for the money. We have a couple different lengths and weights of this product now, and love all of them. This is prefect for the surf, and does the job. This is not as light as some of the more expensive rods, but again for the value it is perfect! I was going to give packaging a 3 star, but decided on 4 as the product did arrive non broken. The rod was packaged in a large box, and surrounded by paper. It arrived safely, however I feel it could have been packaged a little better.

My first fishing gear purchase with Amazon was a Lamiglas Surf King 11 footer Medium Heavy Action rod, which I paired with a Penn Sargus SG7000 Spinning Reel - loaded with a Berkley Trilene 17lb test line. My second purchase was an Akuma Longitude 9 footer Heavy Action rod, which I paired with a Penn Sargus SG6000 Spinning Reel - loaded with a Power Pro 20lb braided line. I've used them both to Surf fish for Dungeness crabs, rigged with a home made crab snare and a 5oz weight. The Akuma rod performance was better than the Lamiglas when I reeled in the crabs. I had a faster retrieve and less tiring on the arms/hands. I guest, this difference between the medium heavy and heavy action rod. With this experience - I have ordered the Okuma LC-S 1102H-1 rod, which I will pair with an Okuma Avenger ABF 50 Graphite Bait Feeder Reel. The craftsmanship for both rods is equally the same - GREAT!!! Deserved five stars, but I will recommend the Okuma rods, since it's a better buy - COST LESS.

Fishing rod was shipped broken. The tip broken off and missing. One of the ceramic guide inserts was seperated from its ring and another was severely bent. I do not like this fishing rod because it is not sturdy nor durable. It may be light in weight, but it also appears that it's in quality also. Total waste of money and I had to throw it away in the trash where it belongs because it would cost me the price of another rod to return this piece of junk.

Ended up returning because I bought one at basspro but seemed like good quality and would recommend

Needed a 9ft rod to fish the jetty but didn't wanna break the bank or worry about banging the rod up jumping around the jetty. went with this one because the price point was not bad at all. paired it with a penn ssv 4500. for the price the rod is great. i am able to get good hook sets and then pull the fish up and over the rocks no problem. handle is comfy and not to heavy. best part its a 2 piece so it fits in the car nice. deff a good buy.

I love the rod. Had bought a 9ft year ago, and have caught alot of fish. My only problem was with the delivery. The drive left it at my neighbors house. Fortunately I have good neighbors who got the rod too me. After I got a email stating it was delivered, and yes I was home, I called Amazon I was told that it wasn't delivered and it could be this or that. The driver messed up.

The rod snapped in half on 1st use 1st hookup on 11lb yellowtail (aka Japanese amberjack). Still managed to get the fish - the boat crew member did the pumping with the snapped end, and I did the reeling. Was using 20lb fluorocarbon leader line - the rod is rated for 20lb-40lb line. What's interesting is that snap occurred ~1ft away from the 2-piece joint. Clearly a manufacturing flaw. As much as I love the 3 okuma reels I have - the have to say this is one POS rod. Stay away unless you fishing for <3lb fish that has no fight in it. Okuma representative - if you reading this, and you want to set the record straight, contact me, and I will be glad to exchange the snapped defective rod for the new unit that lasts. Kudos to Okuma for providing free warranty exchange.

Caña resistente , un poco pesada pero buena por su resistencia y durabilidad , se puede decir que son las de batalla . Anillas de calidad y bien proporcionadas , clasicas para escollera por la fuerza que tienen , no son cañas ligeras asi que si usaste una caña liviana vas a resentir cuando uses una de estas

I love this rod it just shoots missiles. Il buy a second one for my wife soon. I put 50lbs braid on it and it's amazing with a Penn pursuit iv 8000 size.

La caña está bien para lo que cuesta, muy buen producto lo recomiendo para personas que van iniciando en la pesca.

Came on scheduled date Quality better then expected I do recommend it.
