Badger Bug Repellent Travel Stick, Organic, DEET-Free, Family-Friendly

First off - just because bugs are buzzing around your head does not mean they are biting you. They are just attracted to your thermal image. This stick does not keep the bugs from hanging around your face. But it does keep them from biting you. I used this stick and came away with only two black fly bites after four hours outside birdwatching with a group in relatively buggy environments. No mosquitoes bit me at all. I do suggest reapplying at intervals if you are sweating. The smell is strong but not overwhelming. Can be applied directly to skin if you do not have allergies to any of the ingredients. Tuck in a chest pocket and reapply as needed. Handy dandy!!! Great for kids, too, because of the natural ingredients.

Way better than the toxic smelling sprays that get everywhere. Keeps the bugs off me without the mess. Word of warning, don't store it in a hot car.

Easy to apply. Seems to work for 3 hours or so. Not enough all by itself, but a good addition layering of bug repellents.

I’d used Badger Balm for mosquito protection when I worked in MN so got some more, for chiggers as well as mosquitoes, after moving to IN. It does seem to still be effective, and with only a slight aroma, but it also seems to leave a beeswax-type of coating on my skin. I do still use it but shower thoroughly as soon as I get back in from a hike.

First tried this when I saw it at Cracker Barrel a couple of years ago. Cracker Barrel no longer has it and I was so happy to find it on Amazon. this works great. When I am gardening or in my pool and the mosquitoes, gnats, or horseflies are out, I just dab some on my neck and shoulders and they stay away from me. Recently bought some to use with my 15 month old niece, for when we go on walks and the gnats get in her face. Always love to have this on hand.

Love this. Certified organic. Housed in a tin, this has a great blend of essential oils known to help ward off pests. The scent is strong and Long-lasting. The scent for me lasts about 4-5 hours before it becomes faint. From what I know, These essential oils should be safe for your dog (not sure about cats). You can try some on their collar. To me, the scent isn't as offensive as say peppermint oil. It has citronella, cedar, lemongrass, rosemary , geranium, in a emoillent wax base of castor oil, extra virgin olive oil, and beeswax. I can definitely smell the lemongrass/rosemary/cedar combo. It didn't irritate my skin but I like to rub some on my clothing (do a test first for staining). I didn't find it oily or greasy on the skin because it seem to sink in. As a bug repellent, different pests respond to different essential oils, so it's hard to cover everything. If you are the type that attracts them, I found This is added insurance to keep them away, but if you are hiking/walking in an infested area, swarming with say mosquitos, I can't guarantee that you will 100% be protected. I have tried other badger products (lip balms) , and they are consistent in quality and value. I think they are great company.

I love that this product is all natural however it doesn't seem to be very effective for my daughter. I used the spray and made sure she had a good amount on her however she was still getting a good amount of mosquito bites on her. But I use the same spray for myself and my other daughter. I still find myself getting a few mosquito bites even after using this spray but less then if I were to not use it at all. It seems to work excellent for my other daughter though she never has a mosquito bite on her. I think it really has to do with your blood type and how the scent is mixing with your natural body oder with how effective this product is.

Used this a few weeks back when i was stood next to a stream whilst Hubby was taking photos - (on the day the Sun was obscured by the Saharan dust in Derbyshire) - I was quite wrapped up but my face, ears neck and hands were exposed and I started to get bitten my midges so i applied this to my forehead, ears, neck and backs of my hand - it worked! - I lightly rubbed one finger in the pot and then swiped this across my forehead etc and repeated about 3 times to take effect - The smell is not overpowering but obviously enough to deter the midges - It appears this tin will last a fair while - You don't have to apply it all over - And no deet or nasty chemicals - Will be buying some more of this when the tin eventually gets near empty

I live in the Scottish highlands and every year I get eaten by midges. This year is a different story. I am so happy I found this product. It isn’t too greasy and doesn’t look like I have anything on my face when applied. I also smell nice. However if you have this on for days on end you can feel a bit sick with the lemon like smell. The tin will last more than a year. I’ve used a handful of times and it still looks unused. Remember to spread the balm around your ears too as the midge is not fussy where she bites! Handy wee tin fits in pocket and natural ingredients are great for my ultra sensitive skin.
